1. Analyze the article that you were assigned. For this question only, you may use point form. (30) 1. President Barak Obama wants to send American Astronauts back into space. 2. The fiscal year 2016 had a $2.4 million request. 3. There is a $519m increase from the 2015 fiscal year. 4. Obama wants NASA to run on a budget of $18.5 million in 2016. 5. Obama wants to change the NASA budget to prioritize different projects. 6. To make these changes Obama needed to make cuts to other projects of NASA. 7. The Mars Opportunity Rover will be effected by the budget by being cut from funding. 8. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter would be another project that would be cut off. 9. The Commercial Crew Programme would also be cut from funding. 10. The Mars Rover and Lunar Orbiter could still operate, the mission was not cancelled but as soon as repairs are needed it cannot happen because there is no funding. 11. If the budget is agreed on then the Mars mission is not canceled but there will be no funding and the Mars Rover is not in good shape if anything were to happen there would be no way to fix it (Amos). Other impacts of this cut will be what other programs will be effected that were not mentioned in the article, for example will there be a mission to Europa with these cuts. Europa is one of the most promising plants for sustaining life and there is no mention of it in the article. Also Americans have the goal of making it to Mars by 2030 and how will they reasonably reach that goal without known exactly what is there, and that is the Mars Opportunity Rover is doing right now. Other impacts this cut could possibly have is how it affects satellites in orbit, this new budget has a lot of work happening around the Landsat satellite and if that does not happen that could affect many commercial applications in everyday life
