When we were growing up, most are told that, “Drugs are unhealthy for you”, time and time once more. I used to be told by my oldsters that medicine are risky for health once I was kid. However as I got older realized that folks would still use medicine although it's ineligible. I might ne'er perceive that why some individuals are going against law and jeopardize their life simply to use drugs? The drug that I’m about to refer is marijuana, and astonishingly it's all around United States.
In addition to its recreational uses, marijuana has many medical applications that are favorable for its legalization. Because of the numbing effects marijuana has on a person’s body and senses, people use marijuana as a pain reliever. Although marijuana is used not only to numb a person’s sense, but to aid people with eating disorders because it increases appetite, as well as to cure the ails of several diseases. Cancer patients have used marijuana for its pain-relieving properties when other medications are ineffective to help with nausea and general pains. In retrospect, the medical properties of marijuana far out... ... middle of paper ... ...ments, they are prospectively aiding all those who are involved in the marijuana business save money.
Marijuana should therefore be legalized on grounds that other more harmful drugs are legal. All the facts and assertions above are for the statement that cannabis should be legalized for its economical and medicinal values subdue its harmful attributes hence it is of more good than damage. The fact that some of the countries and states of the United States have legalized marijuana explains that many people are beginning to accept the use of marijuana. Marijuana should therefore be legalized (Kleiman, M. 2012 pp 78).
But when we got older we realized that some people uses drugs instead they are bad for our body and in the worst case illegal. One of the most famous drugs is the marijuana and in the couples of years this drug is creating a big controversy around the world. The dispute to decriminalize marijuana in the United States has been battled since the presence of the drug, more than the 58 percent of the people in the United States support the legalization of this drug. During the couple of years Marijuana has been tested and demonstrated that this drug can offer a positive influence on the society for many causes. Some of these reasons are for economy, health and reduce of crime.
Legalizing marijuana has been an ongoing discussion in the united states for many years. Many people think there is no good way to use, while other people believe it could be a helpful medical treatment. Recreational use is what makes this drug a problem. Many people use this drug for non-medical purposes causing it to become a cash crop drug. Marijuana should be legal for medical purposes only.
This is why people on marijuana are said to constantly be seeing things and are said to have the munchies. Medical marijuana has helped a lot of people who suffer from many different things. In Muni Ruben’s article, “Political and Medical Views on Medical Marijuana and its Future,” he tells us that “smoking marijuana elicits harmless effects and improves the quality of life, especially in chronically ill patients” (121). A medical study showed that marijuana can function to treat chronic pain and physical symptoms through different mechanisms in the brain.
It keeps me from wanting to kill myself and call Dr. Kevorkian." Dixie Ramagno is one of the many people in the United States who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.1 Ramagno has done research on her own research that has shown how marijuana helps patients with multiple sclerosis, AIDS, glaucoma, cancer, nausea and pain. She claims that it has especially proven effective in helping AIDS pa... ... middle of paper ... ...ese applications for treatment has been proven to be legitimate by at least one court, legislature or government agency in the United States. 3 Activists who lobby to change the laws regarding the legalization of marijuana have many reasons why the drug should be changed from a schedule I drug to at least a schedule II drug.
Many doctors and researchers have found that marijuana can be used as effective medicine to treat patients who are sick with cancer, AIDS, chronic pain, migraine, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. Even the use of marijuana has some side effects; there are significant benefits, like pain relief. Based on these facts, both federal and state governments should enact laws to legalize the medicinal uses of marijuana in America to help support and benefit millions of sick patients.
Another benefit cancer patients can gain from marijuana is when they are going through chemotherapy. The use of medicinal marijuana at this time can help with appetite, pain, nausea, and vomiting (Rivas). Helping diminish these symptoms from the chemotherapy can help patients remain stronger as the treatment goes on. This in turn, helps their bodies fight off the cancer than opposed to if they were not exposed to medicinal marijuana. Medical marijuana is proven to help the human body fight and overcome diseases ranging from stress related illness or even a disease as severe as cancer and alzheimer 's.
Many people say that marijuana should not be legalized in the United States, however, another percentage of the society says that marijuana should be legalized. Those who agree and disagree need to inform themselves about the pros and cons of marijuana. It is very important to see different point of views from each side because there are several consequences and benefits that the use of marijuana can cause. Legalizing marijuana can be dangerous because many people are not informed of the diseases they can get from using drugs. In most cases people try marijuana to see how it feels and how their bodies react, but there are many who try it once and they keep on doing it very often.
