A comprehensive performance management system will be thorough, inclusive, practical, meaningful, reliable, open, ethical, and correctable among other qualities (Aguinis, 2013). Additionally, the process of managing performance will be an ongoing process to include processes such as coaching and employee development. An ideal performance management system will serve an organization by developing satisfied and competent employees who are actively engaged in aiding the organization to reach their strategic goals, mission, and vision. Consideration of an ideal performance management system for a college of business shall be discussed to include the organizational strategy, systems, implementation factors, and employee development components. Authentic leaders know that the key to a successful organisation is having empowered leaders across the board to ensure that bottom-line results are achieved. This success will reinforce the effectiveness of their leadership and attract talented staff, align staff’s vision and values with that of the organisation and empower everyone to sustain long-term results.
