Benign tumors may show up near the site of the original tumor while the malignant tumor may show up at other sites such as the brain, lungs, bones and liver, depending on the type of cancer it is. Benign tumors are in one area but malignant tumors can spread to other areas of the body by traveling through the bloodstream. Malignant tumors are hard to remove because they invade the local tissue but benign tumors, while benign tumors are easy to remove because they are on the tissue. I have chosen to write about the constellation Cancer (The Crab). I chose Cancer because it is one of only a handful of constellations that I am actually able to identify in the night sky. Cancer is the Latin word for crab, and despite the fact that the constellation looks more like a lobster then a crab, it is still referred to as a crab. According to American Cancer Society projections, there were 1,529,560 new cases of cancer in 2010. Cancer is becoming more and more common around the world. New cancers are constantly being discovered. Researchers are finding new ways to detect cancer and treat it so that the fatality rate does not rise. However, there are some cancers that researchers have not yet discovered a cure for. It is very important for Cancer Research to continue so that one day these cancers will no longer be a treat.
