Hero: Malala Yousafzai “Hero, an ordinary person facing extraordinary circumstances and acting with courage, honor, and self-sacrifice” -Unknown. Heroes are vital to humanity, they influence towards improvement, they are an aspiration, they lead, protect, and inspire the society. According to Merriam-webster, a hero is a person who is admired by the society for his/her achievements, brave acts, and noble qualities. Malala Yousafzai’s bravery and hope towards the universal education of young girls and their fundamental rights when confronted by the Taliban, proves that she is indeed a hero. Malala Yousafzai was born on July 12, 1997, in Mingora,Pakistan. Yousafzai attended a school that her father founded. Her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai In 2009, Yousafzai began writing blogs for BBC Urdu about living under the Taliban 's threats which denied females to having education,driving, and even go shopping. Because of her activism, she received an award for Pakistan 's National Youth Peace Prize, in 2011. Yousafzai and her family received numerous death threats. However, In 2012, Yousafzai was targeted by a Taliban assassin. On her way to school she was shot in the left side of her head in which she was taken to a hospital in Great Britain and survived. And soon the story of Malala Yousafzai captured the world’s attention as Malala responded to the attack. “Dear friends, on the 9th of October, 2012, the Taliban shot me on the left side of my forehead. They shot my friends too. They thought that the bullets would silence us, but they Malala is very wise for her age and is quick to learn from her mistakes.She is ambitious and intelligent compared the girls in the society that she lives in. Not very often you see a female,in the middle east where females are oppressed, speaking for their right to education. That is what you call bravely, Yousafzai put her and her family’s life in danger and stood up for the better of the nation. Her ability to maintain a posture to create an idealistic environment for females to have a chance at being educated shows how much she cares about
