Some of us will embrace the Touch Screen on our PC and Laptop or any device we choose, or others may not. “As far back as the late 1980’s, Bill Gates had floated the concept of “Windows Everywhere.” (Anthony 37). Bill Gates imaged there would be a Windows operating system on any and all devices so that anyone could access Windows from a PC, or Laptop, and you could even have this on a Tablet or Smartphones. Now that we are in the year 2014 we are there because Windows 8 was released to the public and this is now time that either Microsoft is going to shift gears with the evolution of the PC or quietly accepts their defeat in the PC world. Microsoft would like for the consumer to embrace Windows 8 and buy into the dramatic redesign so they can win the PC war. They want to out sell their products, more than their competition like Apple or Android, so they will continue to be the top dog in the PC world. Microsoft has been the leader of PC’s for decades and if they want to compete with other Operating Systems out there then this is why Windows has developed the new Windows 8. Chances are if you brought a new computer recently you have the new Windows 8 version on your computer. The latest version of Microsoft’s operating systems has been installed on all new Windows computers since the later part of 2012.
Since I am also a consumer and a student I wanted to learn more about new Windows 8 and how it does operate differently from Windows 7. Like myself, I feel most everyone is more used too and comfortable with Windows 7. I think you can learn Windows 8 with a little time, because if I can learn Windows 8, it is not too difficult for anyone. Surprisingly, after looking at several Windows 8 videos on You Tube, I can now embr...

...ive the consumers/users what they want and demand or the consumers/users will buy the product from someone else. I feel that once everyone realizes that Windows 8 allows the users to have so much access to their own personal applications or programs then you will see more people using and embracing Windows 8. I think Windows 8 used by individuals will be big in the future but in the business world I am not sure where it will go.
After doing this paper and learning more about Windows 8, now I can say that I really like Windows 8 and look forward to learning more so I can be comfortable no matter what device I am using or happen to own. I feel that Windows 8 has a lot to offer everyone since this allows consumers/users to have access to everything with just A Touch Screen away. I hope everyone will visit You Tube and explore all of the videos about Windows 8.
Unlike other windows, windows 8 are more secure and reliable. As for the business use this windows has a PDF version which is a good resource for the release and preview which relatively appealing for them. The other features would be useful for specific niches of a wide interest of the new refresh and reset purpose. Such features has ability to return a user`s personal computer (PC) to a pristine state without any need of wiping the stored data. On embracing such upgrading the user managers are able to captures reflect of the system prior deployment and store it in the hard drive of a computer or a network share. In a case of computer user error, computer malware or any other com...
A great deal of information was covered this week such as, the necessity in which businesses need to effectively plan and set objectives, the strategies utilized and how they are executed to obtains results, and how managements decisions can potentially affect those results. Although each topic covered was found to be interesting and informational, there was something in particular that struck a chord, which was how business establishments have to be flexible and adaptable and in many instances plan and change their strategies of today, in order to keep up with the evolving technology of tomorrow. Something that one often thinks about is how individuals use technology today and how companies that provide that technology are adapting. For instance, author Richard Daft of the textbook, Management, 12th ed. brings to light the potential issues that Intel is facing explaining “As another example of an external threat, Intel, whose microprocessors power most PCs, is being hurt by the decline in demand for personal computers as more people turn to tablets and smartphones.” (Daft, 2016, pg. 259). After reading this, one wanted to take a deep look into what it is exactly that Intel intends to do to overcome this obstacle and found some
Technology will continue to improve therefore each organization has the opportunity to advance and take advantage of the new techniques and methods that are being used by successful organization that has proven themselves by continuing to provide excellent services for the community and each employee. Now when you see an organization that didn 't make it you ask yourself the question were they ready did they do all that could have been done to save the business, did they hire the correct people, was training offered to all employees, The factors that were stated will make and break an organization if these steps aren 't followed it could lead to failure in the organization.
The computer industry is very volatile in itself. Any literate programmer could develop better operating system or browser in the near future. If his/her product is good and he/she have proper marketing available he/she could become the next monopolistic. The industry itself changes with its needs. Innumerous companies in the past have enjoyed monopolist markets like IBM, Intel, and AT&T. As of today, these past “monopolists” are a part of the industry and no longer are monopolists. No firm can restrict the entry of any other firm into this field (at least of free browsers) except by direct interference and/or by merging, to which there are anti trust laws restricting those ac...
A second barrier to entry is switching costs. When IBM and Apple were the only computer systems to choose from people had to make a choice. When you went to buy one system then you had to buy all the software that went along with that system. Ultimately, IBM became the mor...
Could this force the company to continuous innovate to prevent the products from entering a mature market? You have to give the customers reason to upgrade. I think that is why Apple has been so successful – by releasing an updated proprietary product every year (iPhone and iPod). This strategy has allowed them to stay ahead of their competitors, forcing the competitors to chase them and also continuously bring new products to the...
The human body is everything that makes up, well, you. The basic parts of the human body are the head, neck, torso, arms, and legs. Our bodies consist of a number of biological systems that carry out specific functions necessary for everyday living. The following paragraphs are going to explain the functions of two different body systems.
Firstly, with the operating system market there are no actual barriers to entry. Any one firm can enter into the market and introduce their operating system. A number of powerful firms have indeed done so.
...space. This allowed the user to easily navigate a computer screen any time, anywhere.” (Musolf). “On October 25, 2001, Windows XP is discharged with an updated look and feel that is fixated on convenience and a brought together Help and Support administrations focus. It's accessible in 25 dialects. From the mid-1970s until the arrival of Windows XP, about 1 billion Pcs have been sent around the world.”(Windows). ...ucial part in our everyday lives. Yes, students can choose a MacBook Pro or Air over a PC, even a Chrome Book, but for students looking for budget-friendly computers (trust me, there's thousands of them) I bet you that they will choose a Windows 8 or Windows 7 laptop.
Actual voice input will become a reality, but it may not be widely employed in offices because of privacy and environmental issues. Bill Gates predicts that within ten years, "every computer will have speech and linguistics built into it. Instead of typing or clicking, you'll tell your PC to launch this application or print that document. At the office, your e-mail message is just as likely to be a video clip. At home it probably means that your PC takes control of the lights, temperature, and appliances. When you have a prob-lem, software will look for conflicts, make sure drivers are up to date, when a fix is neces- sary, ask if you want to go online and get a patch. Later on, it will search for the medicine it needs with no intervention from you. Even later, software will watch what you are doing and step in when you're having trouble. In ten years there will be better input systems; handwriting, speech, visual recognition. As much as 90 percent of the operating-system code will go to these new capabilities. Predictable hardware improvements and unpre-dictable software advances have been a signature of the personal computer industry, thisis simply supply and demand.
First looking slightly back in my past, to the years just before Internet craze, I remember being fresh out of the Navy with a trivial understanding of personal computing. I had just landed a field service job, as a repair technician with a local microfiche company for banking data sites. Where the first few paychecks were used to purchase my first 386 PC; it was a top of the line desktop with this new operating system called Windows with the following peripherals; 13” CRT Monitor with stand, an Epson dot matrix printer, and last a phone modem that was a little undersized. I recall saying to myself, who really needs all that speed for the Internet? Who has time to read all those emails or to go into chat rooms with my friends? It would be easier to drive over to their house and spend time with them in person. Social interacting was more of a personal relationship through phone calls or physical meeting out somewhere. Wow… these were fast times in the computing world of PCs.
The intent of this paper is to provide a background of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system development, including when it was developed, how the development process was management, what needs this specific operating systems was developed to respond to in the Information Technologies market. This paper will also analyze the correlation of Information Technologies and Microsoft's Windows Vista position.
The government has tried to improve the skill and knowledge of IT in the UK. Due to this effect, the population in the UK may feel more skilled in using PCs, and therefore this impact may increases the use of PCs at home, leading to a greater demand as consumers feel more confident in using them.
