During my childhood, I could remember vividly series of health challenges several of my relatives encountered; how we struggled and are limited in handling the situations due to lower quality health care services rendered. For example, I was a caregiver to my Grandma who was diagnosed with Ischemic strokes. These are caused by reduced blood flow to the brain when blood vessels are blocked by a clot or become too narrow for blood to get through. Brain cells in the area die from lack of oxygen. So I helped out a lot during her recovery and rehabilitation. My passion to create and sustain outstanding health care services began to take form. Ever since then I was interested in Public health sciences.

The school is 15km from Sydney central business district. Its campus is the perfect place to study because it has state of the art facilities that provides adequate platform to think, interact and learn from the best brains around the world. In addition, they have track record of giving opportunities to both staff and students from diverse nationalities. These are some of the reasons that makes Macquarie University the right place to study
I obtained a Bachelor of Science (honors degree) in Microbiology from Imo State University, Nigeria. This came with good technical knowledge of basic microbiology disciplines such as Bacteriology, Protozoology, Parasitology, Virology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Nematology, Microbial cytology, Microbial physiology, Microbial ecology, Microbial genetics and Cellular microbiology.
Outside of class, I completed my internship in a hospital planning department and also in the laboratory where I worked as a laboratory assistant. It’s one of Nigeria’s top pharmaceutical companies. I work as a medical representative. My key responsibilities are identifying and establishing new business, organizing appointments and meetings with community and hospital based healthcare staff, negotiating contracts, demonstrating or presenting products to healthcare staff including laboratory scientist, nurses, doctors, and pharmacists, undertaking relevant research, meeting both the business and scientific needs of healthcare professionals, maintaining detailed records, attending and organizing trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings, managing budgets, reviewing sales performance, writing reports and other documents.
My passion in public health is dominated by the integration of technological innovations, new health care delivery systems, restructuring of work and policy demands greater involvement in deciding how our knowledge is used. I want to take part in deciding how we as a society deal with providing the best quality of care to all citizens. I intend to earn a Master’s degree in Public Health which I will use as a foundation to create and expand programs for scientific research, preventive medicine, medical and vocational rehabilitation, and community health and welfare at a health care
