Shakespeare wrote Macbeth in the 17th century. As an audience, you experience a lot of drama in the play. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are major characters in the play that different in many ways, both also have similar ways. Macbeth’s character starts out as a brave and ambitious man. His wife, Lady Macbeth is portrayed as a wicked person who feels no guilt. As the play progresses they both begin to change places dramatically.
One of the first differences in Macbeth and his wife is their reaction to the witches’ prophecies. Three witches were introduced in Act I that told of three prophecies, which two of them were for Macbeth. The witches predicted Macbeth would become thane of Cawdor and later become king. At first, Macbeth was confused and reluctant to believe the witches. Although he was hesitant, he was still interested in their predictions and wanted to hear more especially after their first prediction came true.
