When I was 8 years old, I hit the bull's-eye in Mathematics. The class stood up and clapped when the results were declared by the teacher, I never forgot that overwhelming moment in my life, I was so happy and contended, and that day I understood the importance of excellence in life. My passion for Mathematics and Computers led me to choose computer science & engineering specialization at Oriental institute of science & technology. Although I enjoyed learning latest software technologies, I was wanted to apply analytical and technical skills in a real life business scenario. At the end of program I secured a job offer from Wipro Technologies, which came to our campus for hiring.
In October 2010, I started working for a leading Healthcare client. Initially I worked on archival application to fix technical and performance issues. With sound technical skills and perseverance, I successfully implemented changes in application through maintenance release. These changes affected 2000 users across globe. After successful completion of maintenance release, Business manager and Program manager awarded me for my excellent contribution. In addition to my technical role in which I fixed bottleneck technical issues of application, I generated several weekly reports for the analysis of incident requests. I also implemented several service improvements for repetitive issues, leading to a reduction of Incident requests by 40% over a period of 7 months. In this project I learnt about change management, service improvements, and Problem management. Completing this project successfully gave me the confidence of handling large responsibilities and I began looking for an opportunity where I could perform lead a team.
In early 2012, I received an opp...

Strong quantitative skills, familiarity with computer applications and experience gained while working on various projects focused on corporate finance and healthcare have helped me to develop strong analytical skills, and have given me the confidence to work on challenging projects. In the short term, I plan to utilize my existing skills and leverage my learning at Memorial University of Newfoundland by working as an Program Manager in the IT industry so that ten years from now I can achieve my long term goal of being a Delivery Manager in a leading IT company where I can channel my experience and energy to enhance client experience .
Planning and leading the change: Vision leads to change. Unless there is adequate planning with clear delegation of task, change fails. According to Kotter’s 8-step change model, the leader needs to be aware and define the urgency of the change project and disseminate the urgency to recruit a team that is convenience of the need for the change. The vision of the change project needs to be clear to be understood making effective communication imperative. In any leadership there is always some kind of obstacle that is faced, there will be someone that will try to resist the change; it is the duty of the leader to find ways to check for barriers and remove the obstacle by empowering the team. It is always beneficial to have a short-term vision where the company can see the progress of the change as team build on to the long-term vision. And finally, it is imperative that the change in noticed by others in the day-to-day activity. A leader that plans in leading change will be successful if these steps are followed especially in a hospital setting where there is diverse group of people working towards a common
It’s hard to adapt to the changing systems within a short time. The leadership must adjust to the policies of the healthcare center which reflect on the care plans, billing processes and focusing on prevention more than reaction. As a health leader, these are the programs which will build trust from customers and increase income (Lantz, 2008).
Learning about new cultures is my favorite thing to do. I interact well with others and enjoy networking with new people. I have found that my ability to meet new people is a trait that makes every visit I have taken to different countries an enjoyable visit. I wish to participate in this program because it has always been a goal of mine to study abroad. By participating in this program I hope to learn about another culture, make international contacts, and gain valuable international business skills.
The medical field is a growing industry of innovation and exploration. As humanity progresses into the 21st century, leadership within each organization will be the key to success. Even though novel diagnostic equipment and research is created outside the business, management has the task of integrating new resources into practice and nurturing improvement in every aspect of care. The decision makers of a medical company require skills in building relationships and report with dozens of representatives from medical support services in the country, potentially around the world. Moreover, administrators must effectively use risk management daily while training and motivating the workforce. In the following paragraphs, I will detail the leadership qualities I will exude as a healthcare professional.
After a 60 minute interview with Dr. Rob Geis, Director of Procurement at BayCare Health System, I was ready to take on the world. Dr. Geis completed his Masters and Doctoral degree at State University while working at BayCare. After completing the two advanced degrees he was promoted to Director. Currently he teaches two online classes at The University of Phoenix on Health Care management and procurement. As a director at BayCare Health System he has to hold trainings for potential vendors and current vendors along with the training sessions for employees that will directly intervene with the vendors of the behalf of the Health System. It was inspiring to see someone who has successfully blended three different adult learner experiences together; a student, corporate trainer, and adjunct professor.
The cost of providing fast, reliable health care is always an emotive issue, but it has been brought to the fore again via the Gershon report, which is challenging the established Health Care Supply Chain. As a precursor to more specific events that look at how operations management can help practitioners make best use of additional funding to improve patient care and enhance the working lives of Health Care Professionals. The essential healthcare management functions are organized into three major groups of activities governing, caring, and learning with a focus on reaching excellence in community healthcare. Within these activities, each system is described in terms of what it must do to make the whole system effective. Implementing and sustaining change is one of the most difficult tasks for any management -but change is a fact of life in any modern enterprise and, without the ability to manage change, no company can hope to survive it. Operations Managers addresses the practical issues that surround planning and implementing change, including motivating a business to change, engaging staff in the change process, determining performance measures and sustaining the benefits achieved in the initial change process.
The healthcare business is rapidly evolving and expanding, so medical and health service managers must be prepared to handle the integration of healthcare delivery systems, technological innovations, restructuring of work and an increased focus on preventative care. Within healthcare facilities, medical and health service managers must also increase efficiency as well as maintain the patient’s quality of care.
The health industry is a very dynamic environment where healthcare organizations are confronted with many challenges. As change is inevitable in this contemporary healthcare system, so must problem-solving process be obligatory in order to survive and be successful. According to Ginter, Duncan and Swayne (2013), any organization that resist change will find itself out of touch with the needs of the prevailing market. This may require healthcare leaders to be proactive and constantly evaluate processes needed to identify all factors influencing the success of the organizations. In fact, the nature of modern healthcare system makes it critical for leaders to anticipate changes in these factors and how the changes will impact the organization
My overall vision is to develop and promote information technology solutions to better improve health outcomes, patient safety, and prevention of medical errors in underserved countries. In closing, Health informatics and Health Information Management is an exciting program that is designed to provide me with a suite of resources to help me develop essential leadership, teamwork, and healthcare management skills that will help me to become successful leader in healthcare
Infosys announced to hire 22000 college graduates through campus hiring in the current fiscal year and the rate of fresher hiring is higher than the last year. The repeated mistake that Infosys follows is to hire students more in number every year in order to balance the attrition. As a student, with no matter of compensation and benefits, it is a great opportunity to start the career with a big brand like Infosys. Student becomes completely equipped with knowledge, which flows from the “class room trainings” to the “practical desk level job”, he/she starts comparing the r...
I took up Computer Science and Engineering as my discipline in Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, one of the premier institutes in India. My undergraduate education has been a great learning and enriching process for me. It exposed me to all the core areas of Computer Science like operating systems, database management systems, networks and network security, data structures, algorithms and software engineering. These courses have given me a good foundation in the core concepts. My interest lies in Database Management, Programming Languages, Theory of Computation, and Software Engineering.
