Human brains can be filled with lots of information but technology can sometimes give too much, and can overload your brain. Being constantly connected to technology and the internet can effect your personality and thoughts. Also it can change how you see family, friends, and your community. In the novel, “Feed” , by M.T. Anderson, Titus is constantly connected to the Feed as a result he loses his connection with the people he loves. When constantly connected to technology people miss out on the importance of friendship and the world’s health.
Titus, like most people, is engaged in technology and misses out on family . Titus and his father both use the Feed so they miss out on father to son moments, which creates a weak relation between them. …show more content…

When neither one has the Feed they are able to show each other their personalities and emotions. “Violet and I were sitting on a bunk, swinging our legs in rhythm. We were talking about our families. I told her that I had a little brother. She said I hadn’t mentioned him. I said he was a lot younger and a real pain. Violet and I asked about my mom and dad. I told her that my dad kind of banking thing, and my mom was in design… When I asked her what her dad did, she said, “He’s a college professor. He teaches dead languages.”(64-65). Without the Feed Violet and Titus can think clearly and share personal thoughts. They get to know each other personalities and what their interests are. However when they are connected to the Feed they cannot express themselves fully because of the banners. Violet live a very odd life so Titus separates from her in order to keep up with his “normal friends”, and the trends. Violet lives a very different life than most people because of her father. Her father believes in keeping the ways of old life and having his daughter learn about dead languages. Titus finds this weird and spends less time with her, so his friends don’t leave him. ““She waved her hands in the air and looked at the ceiling, trying to think of something. She said, “It’s like sweet gravel. It’s like a bunch of itsy-bitsy commuters running for for a shuttle in my windpipe.” Everyone …show more content…

Titus sees a glimpse of his world’s people when he was hacked and loses connection with the Feed. ““It was the beginning of a great day, one of the greatest days of my life. We all played the dart game, and sang “I’ll Sex You In.” Everyone was smiling, and it was skip.””(57). After being free from the Feed and stuck in the hospital, Titus and his friends invent a game to pass time. They sang and danced with each other, and are were all in happy and joyful moods. Titus sees this as one of best days in his life and this is possible because they could think clearly and have fun. Before the Feed would be blasting them with ads, new, and social media. During this time you see an insight on how the world could be living if not consumed by the Feed. Since Violet received the Feed at a later age and is influenced by her father, she can see the awful effect the it has on the world. She wants to shows Titus how the world is crumbling and how it is eating people, including him. Titus however can care less and struggles to see his community. ““Violet was screaming, “Look at us! You don’t have the feed! You are feed! You’re feed! You’re being eaten! You‘re raised for food! Look at what you’ve made yourselves!” She pointed at Quendy,...””(202).
