Ever wondered how the classic Romeo and Juliet would turn out if their families just agreed to meet over a cup of coffee and talk about Juliet and her Romeo. Would their tragic death could have been avoided? Would there have been a happily ever after? While Romeo and Juliet is a story of two star-crossed lovers whose deaths bring their families together, Taylor Swift’s song “Love Story”, gives a faint idea of how it would have turned out if Romeo and Juliet’s families acknowledged their love.

The lamp Juliet used to find her way into the garden is a symbolic reference to the secretive nature of their love story. They were ready to run away from the reality, even escape this town for a while.
Coming back to the reality Juliet is suffocated in her home, as everyone keeps telling to not love Romeo because of the continuing feud. This love is difficult, but it’s real. She wants to make it out of this mess as long as Romeo is beside her. She got tired of waiting, wondering if Romeo will come around. Just as she was about to lose her faith in him, He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said, "Marry me, Juliet, you'll never have to be alone, I love you and that's all I really know, I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress, It's a love story, baby just say yes".
'Cause we were both young when I first saw you. The video ends where it began, on the university campus, where Swift and Gaston first met. As a kid, I read the comic version of Romeo and Juliet and it confused me enough when I read the book. So, when “Love Story” was released, my friends believed Swift’s version where everything ends in the happily ever after. I had to literally sit there and explain to all of them that in the classic tale the star cross lovers die and their families are united on their death. I love Romeo and Juliet and it’s sad that people are starting to believe the fairytale version “Love Story” as to how it
