Anil Ghay Prof Ryan Tullis ENC1102 2/21/2016 Hayao Miyazaki’s film, Spirited Away, depicts the journey of a young girl, Chihiro, into the spirited world and the struggle to escape back into the real world with her parents. Chihiro is the protagonist in Spirited Away. She is a ten year old girl moving to a new house in new town. While travelling to the new house her parents take a wrong shortcut which ends up in front of a tunnel. After entering into tunnel they found it was the entrance to abandoned theme park which was closed a long time ago because of economy. In the course of the time she matures and finds the things she truly values. Spirited away is a animated movie by a japanese anime studio, which was made in 2001. Both the human and spirits were greedy in Spirited Away. Chihiro’s parents were starving when they found a restaurant in the amusement park, where they saw a deserted stall piled with food. Her parents gorged themselves on the food. Chihiro kept telling them to stop eating food, as they did not ask anyone for permission. There was no one around that restaurant, but they could not stop themselves from eating the food as the food was fresh and so delicious. They kept eating which led them to turn into pigs. It meant for a patrons that trapped chihiro’s family in this mysterious world. Greed also drives the people of a bathhouse. Yubaba, the owner of bathhouse, is one of the most greedy in this movie. Her greed is serving those who were causing destruction. No face can make gold out of air and When the no face start creating gold and giving it away, everyone start pleasing him by offering delicious food, but those who took gold found that it brought them no happiness like when the frog went there to get gold in bathhouse, no face first told frog to take it but later when he took the gold, no face ate the frog. Even Haku is greedy for power to match yubaba. Haku is a sixteen year old boy, who can take the form of flying dragon. Haku work for Yubaba. Haku helps Chihiro find an inner strength to survive and told her the way to save her parent in spirited world. Right now one of the strict rules in the world is in North Korea(wikipedia). A person can not even own their money too. To become a gentle, respectful and successful in life a person have to follow the rules of the place or country you are living inn. In the “Spirited Away” movie rules give the total structure to the spirited world and everyone live there are bound to them. Chihiro knew all the rules from the very beginning of her residence there. Even Yubaba the most powerful spirits follow the rules. Despite Zeniba’s affection for Sen, Zeniba, the Yubaba’s twin sister can not help her in the end as doing so would be against the rules. Zeniba is also the powerful spirit of that spirited world. Despite the fact that Haku has returned Boh to Yubaba. Boh is giant spoiled baby. Yubaba can’t allow her to go back without taking one final teat. Yubaba keeps him disengaged in an luxurious room covered with soft pillows. Bow knows just what his mother lets him know, until Sen grows his reality. In spite of Boh is tremendous, he’s totally defenseless. Yubaba can not permit Sen to abandon on last test in light of the fact that Haku has consented to that condition.
