School is a place where you meet friends and learn as much as you can. Some execrate it because it's too long, but it could be worse. I was one of the people that despised it. When I was younger I hated it so much, that I cried every day. So, My dad took me out. Now that I'm older, I've loved it. Seeing my friends and learning interesting facts. I couldn't see the school change it's schedule though. Here are my reasons why. My first reason the long summer break. I do like the fact about having several vacations a year, but I just think having one huge break is better. You get more time to do stuff, and you don't have to worry about school. With the several vacations, you might have an assignment to do over the break. Plus you have to go back
Would you consider going to a school where you learn year-round? Maybe this would be your ideal school, but, when would you get to have some time to go to summer camp, or get a summer job, or play a sport with games during the day? Schools with the traditional schedule may actually be a better choice, and not just because kids love summer break. Schools should have a traditional school year schedule instead of a year round schedule because there isn’t a significant difference between the students’ performance, and year round schedules make planning family vacations hard, make the teachers’ job more difficult, and are more expensive. Also, having a summer break allows kids to participate in activities that they would not be able to do on a year round schedule due to the shorter breaks.
When one thinks back to all the school years between kindergarten and high school, they will not remember the name of every teacher they have ever had without hard thought. There are always going to be the teachers that stood out from all the rest for one reason; they connected with their students. When asked about school, students will not reply with an undoubted love for all the time spent going through it. It is simply something we must all go through to get on with our lives and be an active member of society. I get the strangest looks from my peers when I say I like school. Now obviously, I have not loved every second spent behind a desk or all the time required to be spent with every teacher, but overall I do enjoy school because of the
School is usually a huge part of every child’s daily agenda. Teenagers in high school basically dedicate their entire day to school and homework. Students in grade 8 are similarly going through the same process as high school students. As students work 2 months after the Winter Break, some of them tend to start reducing their quality of work. When we’re tired of doing school work for two straight months, why should we only receive a short March break?
Another significant reason is summer vacation needs to be longer. The primary reason for this is children need time to wind down and relax before they have to go back to school. For instance, during the summer children relax and prepare for school, if they...
School is something we all know and understand. Regardless of whether we wanted it or not, we have all passed through school. School is, first and foremost, a place designed for people to go and learn. It is a place to better yourself, to learn facts, discipline, to learn social and economic skills. But for all that school is intended for, people go for different reasons. Some are hardworking and academically minded, they go to learn, to set a good foundation for their future, with an aim of becoming successful and accomplished in their career. Others are carefree, going for the social side, to be popular, have lots of friends, and in the end just to have a good time. For others it can even be a place of safety, a place where they can get
School allows many opportunities to grow as a person, and show your personality. Within class I am always an active participant, I always add my input in discussion, and work to answers questions. I have always maintained good grades I was placed in advanced courses beginning in fourth grade and within all 3 years of highschool I have earned a weighted
You might think that year round schools are the next best thing but that idea is not as good as you might think it is! In my opinion I personally think that year round schools are a bad idea!
While switching to a year-round schedule does not always guarantee students the best teachers or learning environment, the educational benefits offered in a year-round school system give students more options in their education. For example, students who fail a class could possibly retake it during one of the many extended breaks throughout the year, which could help them catch up to their peers and make sure they do not fall behind (Schofield 15). Not only would students benefit from making up classes during breaks, but making sure they graduate on time or even early could also decrease taxpayer spending because students would spend less time in school. Others claim the cost of more teachers and air-conditioning (especially during summer) will cancel out or even exceed the savings on buildings and supplies (Schofield 9). Studies have proved the contrary, that savings on insurance, buildings, school supplies and buses heavily outweigh the added costs of hiring more teachers and air-conditioning school buildings 12 months a year (Rodgers
How time does a teacher need to get ready for a new school term? One day? No one would suggest that one day is enough time to close out one term and prepare for the next, but that is exactly what happens in some school districts that have year-round schedules. For years different districts have been experimenting with these schedules, and now even more are considering converting to year round schedule. For many reasons, schools should stay with the traditional schedule.
Year round school is something not many people have to go to. But it is common throughout some state in the U.S. There are large arguments over the year round school calendar and whether it is a good idea or not. Year round school consists of a much larger school year, but throughout the year you have more breaks and they are longer too. In a regular school calendar you have short breaks and only a couple of them, but have a three month summer. A year round school calendar is not a good idea because it is not as easy for a high school student to get a summer job and is causes aspense in a family because all they are doing throughout the year is school.
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Our world is fueled by knowledge of every person who lives, and who has lived. Now there is controversy over when our students should be learning, and when they should be on break. While many schools are switching to a year-round school calendar in order to try and increase student achievement, the traditional 10 month calendar should be the preferred format due to structure of school programs, organization, and higher academic results.
When we were younger many of us wished that during the school year there would be cancellations or early dismissals. If the school’s education system in our district uses the year round school schedule then children and teachers as well won't feel overwhelmed due to the lack of vacations the traditional school system has. Now, to answer the question fellow parents of children in Danbury and Danbury citizens there should be year round school for these reasons: avoids teacher and student burnout, students will be more prepared for the future, and test score increase.
Routine is an important part of people’s lives. School is a place where almost everyone routinely went to, which on average, consisted of going for about nine months and a three month break. The room forms of schedules that occur in year round schools are 45-15, 60-20, and 90-30 plans. The first number is how many days the students go to school before they acquire their official break which is the second number. The reason we have our school schedules set up the way they are now is because of the agrarian times when families needed help in the spring and summer with the farming of their crops. Ever since then, America
Do you think it would be a bummer with no long summer? Well, year round schools take away all that summer fun. Do you really want that? Year round schools are not fun because they take away the sun for everyone. Wouldn’t you rather have more fun, Not lose your jobs or somebody else's, and have a better point of view from your parents. Well, school is already not the way we want to live our lives so let’s have the least of it as we can.
School districts have switched from the traditional 8-10 week summer vacation to a modified year-round calander to retain the information over the WHOLE year. This way kids will have several shorter vacations. This can cause a positive spike in low-performing schools. The change to school year-round has increased a signifigant amount in the past 10 years.
