Recommended: Longitudinal study on dyslexia

There are three types of literary; prose literacy, document literacy, and quantitative literacy. Prose literacy is the knowledge and skills needed to perform composition assignments such as, brochures, and instructional materials. Document literacy the knowledge and skills needed to complete tasks such as illustration is job application, transportations, and tables. Quantitative literacy is the education and skills required to function, quantitative task, including figuring out a tip, completing an order form or determining the supply. Literacy is diverse dependent because it has many different tasks such as being able to perform prosaic task, document task, and quantitative task. This allows for various components of written and technology advances to be made.
Discussion
How literacy has changed Literacy is not stagnant. With that being said, it has improved for the better. Education has become more affordable, allowing more people to be able to get some sort of education. Technology has also had a huge impact on learning in this day and time. Technology is at the end of your “fingertips”. In college assignments, some can be online; therefore, multiple media literacy is needed …show more content…

Dyslexia is a general term for disorders that involves difficulty in learning to read or interpret words and letters, but does not affect general intelligence. Today's technology has allowed individuals to excel and opened opportunities. This can be seen with my personal usage of colored overlays and reading assistance. However, The National Center for Education’s first assessment of the nation's progress in adult literacy states, “several population groups are overrepresented in below basic level”. In fact, 21 % of the population are people that have a disabilities. Consequently, I am fortunate enough to be able to adjust my learning abilities and excel in my education i'm graduating a year

Cesaire especially uses examples of imagery and tone to express the ideas of oppression and political revolution to focus on the forms of literature he describes. Along with examples of the literary elements, there should be an explanation of Cesaire’s usage of image and tone that explains the author’s main message in “Out of Alien Days.” In “Out of Alien Days,” Aime Cesaire uses the concepts of imagery and a revolutionary tone to illustrate the problems of the French colonization in Martinique. Cesaire constructs a definitive path in his poem where he is calling for change in Martinique, and rallying his people against the French empire. This paper is about introducing the concepts of imagery and a revolutionary tone along with examples used by Cesaire in “Out of Alien Days,” and an interpretation of the literary elements in connection to Cesaire’s theme in the poem.

Programs are reaching out to try to terminate as much distress of dyslexia as possible. Up and coming programs, The Wilson Language Program for example, are making their best efforts to start working with children from a young age with the slight signs of this common problem.     In Alice Walker’s story “Everyday Use,” symbolism, allegory, and myth stand out when thinking about the characters, setting, and conflict in the story. The conflict is between the mother and her two daughters (Maggie and Dee). There is also the conflict between the family’s heritage (symbolized by the quilt, bench, and butter chum) and their different ways of life. Dee chose a new African name, moved to the city, and adopted a new way of life while Maggie and her mother have stay behind. The quilt (the most important symbol) represents the family’s heritage in that it is made of scraps of clothing worn by generations of family members. The quilt has been sewn by family hands and used on family beds. It has seen history and is history. Maggie and her mother see that that history is alive but Dee thinks it is as dead as her name. Dee does not see that name as part of her heritage. By analyzing these symbols, a number of possibilities for a theme can be seen. Walker could be suggesting that to understand the African-American heritage, readers have to include the present as well as the past. However, the theme could be that poverty and a lack of sophistication and education cannot be equated with ignorance. Lastly, she could be telling her readers that dignity or self-respect rise from and are virtually connected to one’s entire heritage- not just a selected part of it.
