There are three types of literary; prose literacy, document literacy, and quantitative literacy. Prose literacy is the knowledge and skills needed to perform composition assignments such as, brochures, and instructional materials. Document literacy the knowledge and skills needed to complete tasks such as illustration is job application, transportations, and tables. Quantitative literacy is the education and skills required to function, quantitative task, including figuring out a tip, completing an order form or determining the supply. Literacy is diverse dependent because it has many different tasks such as being able to perform prosaic task, document task, and quantitative task. This allows for various components of written and technology advances to be made.
Discussion
How literacy has changed Literacy is not stagnant. With that being said, it has improved for the better. Education has become more affordable, allowing more people to be able to get some sort of education. Technology has also had a huge impact on learning in this day and time. Dyslexia is a general term for disorders that involves difficulty in learning to read or interpret words and letters, but does not affect general intelligence. Today's technology has allowed individuals to excel and opened opportunities. This can be seen with my personal usage of colored overlays and reading assistance. However, The National Center for Education’s first assessment of the nation's progress in adult literacy states, “several population groups are overrepresented in below basic level”. In fact, 21 % of the population are people that have a disabilities. Consequently, I am fortunate enough to be able to adjust my learning abilities and excel in my education i'm graduating a year
