Lisa Lockhart is no rookie to the Rodeo world. She is an extremely accomplished barrel racer. She is a nine-time WNFR qualifier and a four-time Canadian champion. At the 2014, Wrangler’s National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) Lisa won the average title and finished runner-up for the World Title, crossing the impressive one million dollar mark in career earnings. Her horse Louie is a beautiful Buckskin horse that goes everywhere with Lisa, when it comes to rodeo he is Lisa’s best friend. “As long as I do my job, he just does his. He is just a horse that is so willing to please. Over the past five years, Lisa has been a very consistent competitor finishing top five in the World Standings each year.
Lisa is very compassionate and a hard worker when it comes to barrel racing. She never gives up on herself and at the sport barrel racing. She also has a wonderful personality. Lisa was born November 11, 1965 at Wolf Point, Mont. She joined the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association (WPRA) in 1993. Lisa’s family has always been a priority and she has planned her rodeo schedule around them. She and her husband, Grady, have three children, Alyssa, Thane and Cade, who all compete. Clothes that she wears is cowgirl shirts and denim jeans. The reason why she wears them and other people that compete is that it is proper western attire and it is the rules of the rodeo. The shoes that she wears are western boots. Western boots are a kind of shoe that fits the suitable attire better that goes along with the saddle. She has beautiful brunette
She has got tall slender body with slim legs and nice feet. Due to her body structure, every dresses flatter her appearance and make her look adorable. She is usually seen wearing skirts and pants. She is also seen wearing informal like jeans when she is not working. She usually wears high heels that suits her dresses and feet.
Once you get them to settle down and get there mind focused on just walking and the rider then you know the bond with the rider and horse are strong. When it is time for the second run of the night you want to warm them up again but not as hard this time because he or she has already been warmed up once before this, so just a little warming up won’t hurt. When it is that time for the second run the rider will bring the horse him a set him or her up for their first barrel and make the most of the race. If you see the rider smiling then everyone knows she has done her job with this horse. The rider can make an automatic barrel horse where that horse know his job and she barely has to ask the horse for a turn or touch his face to go around that barrel. When the rider gets a horse to be like that everyone can tell they spent hours and days together. The rider worked with that horse but never made him sour or hate coming into the arena. They spent time working on flexing the horse and making sure he knew when to tuck his nose and leave it for an extra second. They will all see when they are running home how much they spend time they spend together if they are fast and smooth through the pattern and don’t have any blow ups before or after coming in and out of the arena. Many of the costumes are designed to highlight the characters and the way they live. For example, Bernadette wears long flowing clothes, usually white or cream. ‘She’ is an older ‘women’ and dresses to look like one with flowing skirts and tops with her hair done up simply. Felicia is more of a stereotypical gay; ‘she’ has a more feminine figure and wears tight clothes when in drag. Felicia looks more masculine out of costume, wearing, stereotypically, a singlet and baggy pants.
It’s 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Jake and I are headed down the longest stretch of road in Texas. We have just pulled out of El Paso and are on the way to Fredericksburg to participate in the Frontier Days Rodeo. We were fortunate to have put together a decent run on our last draw and win enough day-money to keep us going for a while. Jake and I are rodeo-bums, to be specific, calf ropers. I am the one who tries to throw the loop of a rope around a calf’s neck and Jake is my partner, the best roping horse a cowboy ever mounted. By the way, how many understand the art of calf roping? I thought so. Let me walk through the steps of what it takes to put together that perfect run, not that I can do it that often.

A man’s shirt and pants are European, usually worn with a traditional vest and sandals. Traditional hats are worn as well (Falconer, Kieran, and Quek 61-62). A woman’s outfit consists of a traditional hat and sandals. Their hair is usually tied up in long, thick braids. A colorful shawl is usually worn over a skirt and short jacket (Falconer, Kieran, and Quek 63).
Everything about going to this rodeo was fantastic: the food, the fun, most of all, the rodeo grounds. The place that I fit in was in the stands of the arena. Sitting there for four days got a little old, and, going on the fifth day, I was a little tired. Nevertheless, tired or not, this was what I had been looking forward to--the Short Go. This is the round in a rodeo when the top 15 from each event compete for the title of State Champion.

Women were not treated fairly or equally to men and were supposed to be the perfect stereotype of a lady. They could not be independent all her possessions would either belong to her father or her husband when married. They were supposed to be the caring mother and wife as well not have any say in political issues such as voting. An addition they were paid far less than the men for the same amount of work. With so much injustice taking place the women started to fight back. They form the National council of women of canada and did many things, such as hand out pamphlets, protested, and marched in parades. These actions were not ignored and because of them women now are payed the same as men would as well in 1918 all women could vote.

Lane Frost was born in La Junta, Colorado on October 12, 1963, while his dad was still competing in the rodeo circuit. Lane grew up with a desire to ride bulls. He was showing an interest in the sport as young as 5 months. His mom, Elsie Frost, said that whenever they went to rodeos Lane would always fight to stay awake to watch the bull riding. If they tried to leave before it was over, he would scream and cry and throw a huge fit (Frost 1). At the age of five Lane started riding dairy calves on the family dairy farm in Vernal, Utah. He rode calves and steers when he was younger, entering and competing in any rodeo he could. In 1978, when Lane was 15 years old, his family moved to Lane, Oklahoma. There he began to compete regularly in bull riding, and in 1981 he won the National High School Rodeo bull riding championship. Lane graduated from Atoka High school in 1982. He was offered rodeo scholarships from many different colleges, but he turned them down and decided to pursue a professional bull riding career instead...
The first thing she worried about after she woke up in the hospital was being able to ride again. She had taken riding lessons since she was three. Her dad bought her a Palomino barrel horse when they moved to Utah. She started competing in rodeos when she was seven. Her mom got her into pole bending, barrel racing, and breakaway roping. She did the best in barrel racing. That was her favorite event. She thought that after the accident she would be able to get back on her horses just like she used to. But it wasn’t the same. Her balance was very bad and she could barely stay on. She got so upset that she couldn’t ride anymore that she told her mom to go sell the horses and that she would never see them again. She would not go near them. Then one day she got a phone call for an interview. They asked her to sit on her horse and for them to take a picture for the interview. She decided to give it one more try and her balance was better than it was before. They started working with her some more and they figured out a way for her to ride again. They put straps on her saddle so her legs wouldn't fly everywhere and they also put a seatbelt on her saddle so she would stay in. They also taught the horses to listen to her voice and not her
