Animal Farm Synthesis

The pigs lived a very luxurious lifestyle in comparison to that of the other animals on Animal Farm. All the animals on the farm have much fewer to eat than the pigs. “The winter was as cold as the last one had been, and food was even shorter. Once again all rations were reduced, except those of the pigs and the dogs” (112). Also, the pigs were allowed the sin against their own commandments. The fifth commandment was “no animal shall drink alcohol” (24). Now “ every pig was now receiving a ration of a pint of beer daily, with half a gallon for Napoleon himself” (115). “Boxer's split hoof was a long time in healing, [and he] refused to take even a day off work.” (111). To further demonstrate his major efforts of contributing to Animal Farm, “late one evening in the summer, a sudden rumour ran round the farm that something had happened to Boxer. He had gone out alone to drag a load of stone down to the windmill... Boxer [lay] between the shafts of the cart, his neck stretched out, unable even to raise his head. His eyes were glazed, his sides matted with sweat. A thin stream of blood had trickled out of his mouth”(119). Boxer had fatally injures himself in efforts to make the pig’s empire greater. The age of retirement on the farm for a horse was 12 years, and Boxer was a couple months away. In return all the animals expected Boxer to receive great treatment and spend the rest of his life in peace and relaxation. On the contrary the pigs did the unspeakable. The pigs told everyone that they were sending Boxer of to see the veterinary but Benjamin discovered otherwise; “‘Fools!
