My reflection on what I have learned while taking this course, is that I have come to the conclusion that life isn’t going to change by clicking my heels together. I had always hoped it would be that easy! I have to be the one to make changes in my life that will make me happy and more full-filled. Life will always be filled with challenges and heartache, but I guess how I handle it is the key. When dealing with stress, I learned that Stressful situations increase the level of stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol in your body. Indulging in physical activity, when I am feeling stressed and tense, like going for a brisk walk in fresh air, can help relief that stress. Incorporating some physical activity into my daily routine on a regular basis, either before or after work, or at lunchtime can make a difference in my overall health. Love is like a never ending story with unpredictable plot twists scattered throughout. Life happens, so don’t desperately search for meaning where there is none. Most relationships don’t end because one partner did something “wrong.” More often, their life paths split in opposite directions. Owning my own quirks, by not feeling self-conscious about my freckles, belly, or wrinkles. Realizing that my quirks make me unique. It 's never too late to start over. If am not happy with yesterday, try something different today. Don 't stay stuck. Do better. Relationships are hard, no doubt about it. But there are certain skills and insights I can learn when it comes to communicating better, resolving conflict, building real intimacy and having an all-around healthy relationship. I really learned a great deal of information from this course. A lot of the information helped me to understand myself as well as others. I must admit that I do see certain situations and circumstances a little different now. I understand some of the things my children are going through in life right now a little better. This course has really enlighten me about a lot things in my life at this point. I will use this same information to help me empathize and help my students as a school counselor. I will be able to recognize the types of developmental issues my students may be faced with and provide the correct intervention plan to help them succeed in academically.
English has never been my best subject. Reading books can be exciting, but the writing aspect of English can be dreadful. Somehow, however, I passed all my advanced English classes with at least a B, and my teachers always considered me to be “above average.” My impartiality toward English shifted to an indifference near the end of my high school career; my indifference then shifted to appreciation. This appreciation is attributed to American Studies and Honors Writing, the most difficult English classes at Belleville East Township High School. American Studies and Honors Writing have strengthened my writing skills beyond what I believed possible. I still do not believe that I am the best writer, and English may never be my best or favorite

Eat healthy foods. It could certainly lower your stress level. Furthermore, eating your meals properly at the right time can do so much wonder to your weary mind and body. Never ever skip meals. Even if you are on the rush going to work, never ever skip breakfast. Eating breakfast contribute a lot in making you totally rev up and brisk for the entire working day.
Doing this for 10-20 minutes daily will increase your quality of life and reduce stress. We can use forms of meditation to avoid stress. Another way to manage stress is to exercise. There are many benefits from exercising while stressed. Any physical activity raises the production of endorphins, which are your brain's neurotransmitters that make you feel good.
Get yourself moving. There is power in perspiration that can defeat stress. A few push-ups, curl-ups and an hour or two of jogging can make a difference in your emotional state. Meanwhile, as you perform different types of physical activities, bad elements that are causing your stress are gradually reduced. It burns away your anger, frustration, and tension, especially at work.
Over the course of the semester, I feel that I have grown as a writer in many ways. When I came into the class, there were skills I had that I already excelled at. During my time in class, I have come to improve on those skills even more. Before I took this class I didn’t even realise what I was good at. This is the first class where I felt I received feedback on my writing that helped me to actually review my work in see what areas I lacked in and where I succeeded. Some of the skills I had shocked me as I didn’t think I had those capabilities in me.

Life Lesson As an underclassman you come into high school either thinking that the next four years of your schooling will be really easy or really stressful. To tell the truth, it can be both, whether you come into high school with a positive or negative attitude. High school is the last place you can get away with some mistakes and try again. The next four years will test your skills and responsibilities.
Life is full of troubles, demands, pressures and hassles—these are all factors related to stress. Stress is a state of mental or emotional tension resulting from adverse or difficult situations (Merriam-Webster). When you are in potential danger, your body responds with a “fight-or-flight” response to protect you from any harm. Situations like being robbed at gunpoint or studying last minute the night before the test can activate stress in your body. Although situations in life can increase stress, there are plenty of methods to diminish it. Methods like meditating, talking to family/friends, drinking tea, or even taking a quick nap--all of these methods are proven effective (The Franklin Institute). One method that is prominent to many is physical exercise. Exercise is considered to improve physical conditions and strength, but maintains mental fitness in the process. Although many assume that exercising is healthy, some may not be familiar of how it relieves stress in detail. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of exercise, the pros and cons must be considered. Some pros are: managing the levels of stress in your body, boosting your self-esteem, and improving learning and memory. The cons are: being time consuming and tedious, being costly and expensive, and risking injury while exercising. Let’s look at the pros of physical activity.
It is understandable that friends, family and a social life exists and that also needs to be taking care of. Exercise reduces stress, improves your sleep and from it allows you to gain a social aspect consider as new friends. If exercised daily or even when there is time during the week it will improve and change your life allowing you to not fall asleep or be tired all the time. It will reduce stress by being distracted on productive activities like playing tennis, going hiking, running at the park or even walking around the neighborhood. This activities when applied are best rather than thinking about work all the time, even on days off, this activities will have a positive impact on depression, anxiety and help your body use oxygen more efficiently to improve breathing. As you pick up the pace, the body, like any engine, produces heat — and needs to cool off. The blood vessels in the skin dilate, increasing blood flow to the skin. The heat then dissipates through the skin into the air.
Much like Benjamin Franklin believed, I feel that a person should take advantage of the time the person has in life with activities a person wants to do or needs to do. A person should not spend much time on activities the person does not want to do. Life is way too short to concern oneself with work or other activities one wants nothing to do with all the time. When possible, I try to forget about my responsibility and just let go of the ‘things’ that do not matter to me. I think a person should try to occupy oneself with something productive, worthwhile, or necessary at all times. Even though a person’s life is left up to a person to live, I cannot imagine thinking that I owe my time to society through working a job that I simply despise. I am a compassionate person, but I do not owe anyone anything regarding my time.
