In today’s society individuals differ in many ways, some possessions becoming more significant in value than others. While there is a large variety to choose from I have chosen what has made an impact and affected my life the most, and arranged them in the top three of my list. I have placed God, my family and education before anything and everything else. As I bow my head and pray I feel reassured and calm knowing that there is someone above mindful of me, a sense of peace knowing that all the tribulations that I have faced I have never faced alone. For that reason and for many more is why I have placed God number one on my list. I have always attended church therefore thinking that it was okay to call myself a “Christian”, but when it came down to it I was a hypocrite and I did not even realize it I am not sure that anyone really realizes it until something drastic occurs in their life. This drastic point occurred in my life when I was a sophomore in high school I became very ill; my joints ached on everywhere part of my body causing every single movement to be very pain...

Show MoreYour possessions- I have a lot of possessions, but I would say my electronics really do a lot for me each day and I’m grateful for them. My cell phone, tablet and laptop get my class work done, daily tasks and leisure time.
...f mines. My possessions are tied to memories and experiences I have gone through, and without them, I would not be how I am today.
What do the things you own say about how well you are doing in life? (Very littleya great deal).
I believe, that many of us know that like Chris McCandless that we all have way too many “unnecessary baggages” and have things that we all cannot live without as well. With each person those things are different. Of course, that there are things that we all need because of the culture and the time period that we all live in, such as, car, cell phone, internet, and computer are some of the few examples that I could list of the top of my head. Now that I look into my own life, there are many “unnecessary baggages” in my life that I have and there are also somethings that I just simply cannot live without and i would not trade them for anything with. I personally need my Bible, food, water, and clothing. Because they are essential to life,
The one thing that I regard as most valuable is my religion – Christianity. I truly cherish the ability to communicate to God through prayer, because I believe that it is a very powerful phenomenon. The example Jesus set for us when he was on this planet is another incredible thing; while reaching the level of perfection that He did is impossible, his standard gives me motivation to do good in the world and to be a catalyst for change. The Bible, which I believe is the inspired Word of God, gives me inspiration and stimulation to make good decisions for the benefit of myself and those around me. These things, collectively, are the reasons that I believe that my religion is so important, and that I regard it as a significant factor in my life.
As for the adults, they most often rated relationships as the most important, and possessions as the least important. Unfortunately, this category did not include any people of retirement age who likely would have had different experiences with the matter. Still, all of the adults strongly agreed with the fact that they had all the “important things” in their lives. While most adolescents also felt this way, there were a marked nu...
So far one of the most important things I've learned about life is that happiness isn't about the more expensive or luxurious things you have, it's about the things that have significance to you. No matter if the objects are big, or small, objects don't make or break you. Objects hold the key to the happy times in your life. They help you remember the moments and people who have made your life worth living.
It is common for people to own cherished possessions that they inherited for a variety of reasons. For some the collections could include a special stuffed animal that they confided in as a young person and couldn’t go a place without it, or a blanket they carried everywhere they went from playing outside to cuddling with it to go to sleep, or maybe it is a necklace or an engagement ring that has been passed down from generation to generation. The necklace could be one that all the women in a family wore at their wedding. No matter which way we came about our possessions they represent significant meaning to each own. My china hutch, that my fiancé gave me as a surprise gift, holds the most sentimental value of love, laugh and joyous memories of the time I spent with my best friend along with holding valued family treasures.
There are so many things that are important to me, but only a few that could greatly affect my life if I didn’t have or accomplish them. The biggest things to me are success, family, and freedom. These are all things that are essential to my life in so many different aspects.
However, my second most important value to me would be my family. Family is something that I value very much and is something that I’m thankful for every day. Without my family, I wouldn’t be where I am today and probably wouldn’t have amounted to the success I have. My mother, father, and two brothers, have helped me achieve my goals in life and are always there when I need them the most. My Father brings enlightenment into my life by providing food on the table for my family and helping me whenever I deal with car troubles. It’s a way for us to connect and bond after a long day of college or in his instance, work. My mother on the other hand, helps me through problems and gives me advices on situations that I need help with. She always greets me with a smile and there is no amount of money to describe how much that is valuable to me. Lastly, my two younger brothers are something I cherish very closely. I strive to be a phenomenal role model for them and be someone they can be proudly call their brother. They brighten my day even when there is no sun to be shining outside and always know how to make me happy. Overall, family is an important value in my life and believe that family can teach each other, serve one another, and share life’s joys
Learning how to manage your work priorities as well as your professional development is as integral part of your working life and maintaining a competitive edge against eventual competition, in both employment and on a professional level, i.e. a competing business or a job seeker vying for the same position. Many managers, team leaders, supervisors and employers that have neglected this area of professional expertise often suffer undue hardship, both professionally and personally, due to their decision. Missed deadlines, an unfocused or under stimulated workforce, incomplete goals or projects, being passed over for a job or promotion and an increase in costs and stress are all symptoms of not or mismanaging priorities and neglecting personal development. This is not to say that these setbacks are are only caused by mismanaging, or
One’s personal possessions usually have value to them because they are something that a person can truly claim as his or her own. The most desirable and most valuable possession would naturally be love. With love some, but not all, desire material possessions. Last, everyone desires security to complete the last piece of the puzzle.
It is a well known fact that one decision can change a life and that is exactly what happened to me. I chose to be a hardworking student, take multiple dual credit classes, and try to advance myself as much as possible. I never thought that all my hard work would come back on me and ruin my plan. I will be graduating with 33 college credit hours and an EMT license which for a normal student that would be great. My plan of two years came crashing down last week, my dream of going to a six year medical program was denied. The criteria that I have and the criteria that the school emplaced did not match up. I had to many college credit hours for the fast track program which denied my access into my dream program. After receiving the heartbreaking email, I really began to think about my life. At first I was angry at myself for taking too many college classes, but then I began to see that it may have been the best thing to ever happen to me.
I believe values are different for each person because we all come from different families value structures, have different cultures and traditions. However, values can change over time as we grow up and as we face different experiences and responsibilities. There are different types of values that influence our lives in several ways and help us remember what is important to us, and direct us to what we want to be, and accomplish in life. In this essay, I will be talking about three different Instrumental values, three terminal values and my least liked values that have affected me psychologically, in my behavior, my beliefs and my leisure choices
The most important and essential element of prayer is called “Adoration.” This is how you allow God to know that you praise and worship Him. This is also the part of prayer that you are always supposed to say first. Focusing your mind, your soul, and your heart on God and your showing of how much you praise, adore, and worship Him comes first and then after is when you start with the next step of your prayer which we will talk about further on. For example, you could or would start out your prayer by saying, “Oh, Holy Lord in Heaven, it is You that is my deliverer, my Almighty Father. You are my strength, You are my protector, You are my God. I trust in You fully and completely, 100 percent. I trust that my life, as well as whatever may come for me during this lifetime, is in Your hands and I trust that whatever obstacles I may be given, I know that it is You and only You that will help me get through a...
