Life Expectancy:
Canada has one of the highest life expectancies in the world, ranked at number 8 in front of a lot of rich industrialised countries. This is because of strong healthcare programs. For every hundred dollars went on health care in Canada, per capita, life expectancy increases by 2 months. The life expectancy in Brazil comes down to how wealthy you are. People living in the richer parts of the city tend to live around 12 years longer than those living in the slums. This is because the people living in the poorer areas don’t have access to proper health care. The life expectancies in Canada and Brazil basically comes down to how wealthy the country is and if there is access to basic health care.

This is a major part of achieving higher living standards which can then lead to improving the quality of life. In the last decade Brazil has done a lot to improve the wellbeing of its citizens for example poverty has started to reduce. Brazil performs well in only a few areas of wellbeing compared to other countries but performs below average in a lot. The areas that they perform well in include subjective wellbeing, work-life balance and social connections.
Over 74% of people aged 15-64 in Canada have a paid job earning around $77,678 Australian dollars a year on average. Although this is a good figure the top 20% of the population earn around 5 times more than the bottom 20%. Canada performs very well in the measures of wellbeing ranking above the average in housing, subjective well-being, personal security, health status, income and wealth, social connections, environmental quality, jobs and earnings, education and skills, and civic engagement.
The general life satisfaction in Brazil is around 8.1 whereas in Canada it is 9.3. Although these are both high numbers I would say the quality of life in Canada is quite a bit better than that in
