Our society is composed of a fast-paced environment where constant change is abroad: the amount of time one has to contemplate over career situations, personal matters, and social issues is limited. Thus lack of analysis-- in pivotal circumstances-- yields premature decisions that would considerably differ if an abundance of time was available. Assuming the aging rate is cut in half after age twenty--along with a healthy diet, avoiding accidents, and the use of artificial body parts to sustain proper movement--human life expectancy would substantially increase increase from 78 (in the United States) up to about 130. Consequently, greater longevity will refine psychological and developmental behavior: A longer life span will cause personal relationships to strengthen; close attachments will develop a profound examination of personal identity. Moreover, impacts on development will modify occupational choices and performance.
Nowadays, people devote time to duties that correlate with social living-- in order to function “properly” within society, rigorous work and abiding with current trends, influenced throughout the media, is pivotal-- depriving the strengthening of relationships. Due to profession requirements, parents unconsciously treat their children with neglect; as a result, they are bound to feel detachment and isolation, for their necessities of attention and affection are unmet. Also, bonds between siblings are feeble, as their psyche pushes them to move away from home as soon as possible. A prolonged life span, however, will overwhelm interaction between people, strengthening relationships without sacrificing primary functions that must be accomplished for society. ...alter skill level or have incredible strength. More importantly, career-ending injuries (such as a broken femur or tendonitis) could be averted by the simple replacement of a defective body part.
Thus, the probability of increasing human life expectancy up to about 130 (in the United States) can bring forth considerable changes to our current lifestyle; psychological and developmental impacts will certainly modify our behavior to strengthen personal relations, and increase performance in occupational choices. Resulting from strong attachments with others, the ability to find one’s identity will also be far more feasible. Additionally, medical resources will aid in the performance of the body: being able to repair the human body with artificial parts, once they are not responsive, is something that will increase mobility and make us more productive.
