The two ideologies that dominate America are Liberalism and Conservatives. The Republican Party known as right wing are conservative, while the Democrats are the left wings known as Liberal. To start off the Liberals and Conservatives have different opinions on things, Conservatives tend to be traditional, they focus more on the economy, limited government, while Liberals focus more on equality and freedom, they also protect human rights and believe that their leader should mostly help the people. In my opinion the Liberals are more open minded they believe abortion should be legal because mistakes happen, they believe gays should be treated like a normal human bean with the same rights, they do believe that the death penalty isn't correct
There have been many different parties surface since the beginning of the American political system. They all have had different thoughts, policies, and motivations. Each party has their own agenda some have made significant contributions and others have not. The first split, and beginning of the party system, came with the variation between the Federalists and the Democratic Republicans. These two parties were extremely different in thought, strategies, and status of people involved such as their leaders and believes on how to run the government. The Federalists worked to create a stronger national government, supported British in foreign affairs, and favored a national bank. The Democratic-Republican Party operated to advocate states’ rights, supported the French in foreign affairs and opposed a national bank. These are some of the differences that set apart these two major government Parties.
In the United States we are divided by the left and right side on the political spectrum; even further divided into political parties such as Republicans, on the right, and Democrats, on the left side. These two political parties show philosophical differences through their viewpoints on major topics such as the economy, separation of church and state, abortion, and gun control.
Individualistic in that government is supposed to maintain a stable society but at the same time intervene as little as possible, and has a faith in idividual initiave. For example, Texas has a favorable support for private business and has limited government with restricted powers. On the other hand, the traditionalistic aspect of the state politics are exemplified by the long history of one-party dominance in state politics, the low level of voter turnout, and social and economic conservatism (Explaining, web). The conservative ideology (right-wing) according to Dr. Kim, is opposing government regulation of economiclife and supporting government regulation of personal life. In other words, a individual is considered a conservative when believes in personal responsibility, free markets. They believe the government should give the people a certain amount/the necessary of freedom in order to persue their own goals and interests. On the other hand, the liberal political ideology (left-wing) is known as an ideolgy that 100% supports government regulations on its citizens’ economic life. Today the United States government is ruled by two parties, the Democrats and the Republicans. Stereotypically, Democrats are often seen as more liberal and Republicans seen as more conservative. Our government as always been controlled by two parties, but the parties have changed numerous times. In the age of our founding fathers, the dominant political parties were the Federalists, founded in 1789 by Alexander Hamilton, and the Democratic-Republicans--also known as the Republicans or the Jeffersonian Republicans--, founded in 1791 by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. From the viewpoint of a nineteenth century American citizen, I would be a Republican.
The United States of America has two political parties, Democrats and Republicans. The parties were created back in the 1800s and have become their own.The parties are both part of the American government, but they do not believe the same way. The differences in the parties are their beliefs in social issues. The disagreement between the two have been around since they were created. Although the political parties do not agree on social issues, they both want what is best for citizens in the United States. When it comes to the issues dealt with by all Americans, you generally have few choices with which to align yourself. You can either decide to stand on the right, taking a conservative viewpoint: believing in personal responsibility, limited government, free market, etc. with notable parties such as the Republican Party and the Peace and Freedom Party. Alternatively, you can stand on the left, taking the more liberal route: holding onto ideals such as government action and equal opportunity. Those parties include the Democratic Party and the Green Party. However, it is not a black and white cutoff between conservative and liberal, rather a circular spectrum going to the far left, the far right, and meeting back up.

Classical Conservatism is defined as “a political philosophy emphasizing the need for the principles of natural law and transcendent moral order.”(Frohnen, Beer, and Nelson, 2006) Classical Liberalism is described as “a philosophy committed to the ideal of limited government and liberty of individuals including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets.” (Hudelson, 1999) These two ideas have shaped our philosophies and parties for centuries to come. These philosophies were made possible by many bright men of the time like Edmund Burke, John Adams, John Locke and Adam Smith.
In the modern era, stereotypes seem to be the ways people justify and simplify the society. Actually, “[s]tereotypes are one way in which we ‘define’ the world in order to see it” (Heilbroner 373). People often prejudge people or objects with grouping them into the categories or styles they know, and then treat the types with their experiences or just follow what other people usually do, without truly understand what and why. Thus, all that caused miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are usually formed based on an individual’s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people.
Democratic representatives scream about "right-wing conspiracy" while radio talk shows lament the evil of "liberal agenda." News broadcasters are branded as "chauvinist conservatives" by Hollywood pundits or "liberal bigots" by Christian broadcasters. Everywhere someone is firing the label gun, plastering liberal or conservative on their opponents, and many Americans are scratching their heads trying to understand the division and difference between both. Liberalism, formed in the latter part of the 18th Century from opposition to existing political monarchies in Europe, was based on rights of individuals and the responsibility of government to protect those rights. Conservative philosophy was born as a reaction to dangerous tendencies detected within the liberal movement toward excessive governmental control.
Modern liberalism and modern conservatism are both political outlooks that involve acceptance or support of the balance of the degree of social equality and social inequality; while they tend to avoid political changes that would result in extreme deviation of society to either side. Modern liberalism and modern conservatism tend not to be as centrist or middle-of-the-road ideologies as they once could be. Ideology is a set of ideas and beliefs that guide the goals, expectations, and actions of a group (Webster’s Dictionary). Individuals who are conservative or liberal tend to have views that align within a political party, whether it be Republican or democratic, but this is not always the case. There are conservative democrats, such as, Jim Costa and Jim Cooper and there are liberal republicans, such as, Nathaniel Banks and George Washington Julian. Another name for conservative democrats would be blue dog democrats while the nickname for liberal republicans is the Rockefeller republicans. These two ideologies tend to be more of the centrist ideologies. Modern liberals tend to be members of the Democratic Party because they support a wide range of welfare programs and government support of the public sector and tighter corporate regulations (PP Modern Liberalism). U.S. Conservatism evolved from classical liberalism, which makes them similar, yet there is many differences between modern conservatism and modern liberalism. There are principles and tenets that govern each ideology. A tenant is a belief or idea that is held as being true from a group (Webster’s Dictionary). In my opinion the best between both ideologies is liberalism, the reason I think that is because liberalism places an ontological supremacy upon the individual and has no value more important than freedom because man’s natural state is when he is free, unlike conservatism that has a very pessimistic view of humans and claims that individuals are morally corrupt. A political ideology is a coherent system of political ideas and beliefs that provide us with visions of what the good society should look like and a road map regarding how to bring it about. The word ‘ideology’ was first invented in 1796 by a French philosopher De Tracy, he used that term to refer to the new ‘science of ideas’ (idea-ology) which was spread out to uncover the origins of conscious thoughts and ideas (Basingstoke, Palgrave McMillan 2003). De Tracy was hoping for the ideology to be considered as any other science, such as biology, zoology or geology. However, in the nineteenth century, Karl Marx considered ideology to be equivalent to only the ruling class (Basingstoke, Palgrave McMillan 2003).

According to the Webster's Dictionary, stereotyping is defined as a fixed conventional notion or conception of an individual or group of people, held by a number of people. Stereotypes can be basic or complex generalizations which people apply to individuals or groups based on their appearance, behaviour and beliefs. Stereotypes are found everywhere in the world. Though our world seems to be improving in many ways, it seems almost impossible to liberate it from stereotypes.
