Furthermore Leonhardt provides logos with statistical studies that show many jobs that do not require a degree like police offices, cashiers and construction workers, who make significantly more with a degree than without one. In addition Leonhardt creates logos and ethos by explaining, “When researchers asked low-income teenagers how much more college graduates made than non-graduates, the teenagers made excellent estimates. And in a national survey, 94 percent of parents said they expected their child to go to college.” I completely agree with Leonhardt on college, you are better off with a degree than without one. Some people think going to college is challenging, but it’s not as much of an undertaking as you think. There it is, I want to pursue my passion and a degree is the roadblock. I have worked in financial services for over ten years, but discovered I was exhausted with the relentless pressure of sales and began looking into positions in education, all of which require a degree. I never knew how inexpensive it would be to go to school. What held me back for so many years was I thought I couldn’t afford it. Currently I am on track to finish my A.A degree this year and financial aid and grants have funded of all the tuition payments. If this assumption were to become something that everyone believed, people would not get the education they would need to have a successful career life. A lot of people would become jobless because all the low level jobs would not need anymore employees. The higher up jobs would be lacking in business because no one would meet the requirements to work for the companies. Reviewing the article, Dale forgets to point out that a lot of people that go to college become successful. Yes, college isn’t right for everyone, but most of the time, the only way for people to have a successful lifestyle is to go to college.

When coming into terms with what a college degree means is simply a certification.
