For decades it’s been a topic of discussion whether prostitution should be legal or illegal, today I am here to tell you why it should be legal, and how it overall might affect our society in positive ways.
Sexual relationships outside of marriage will always happen, but if prostitution was legal everyone would be more educated about not only prostitution, but sex trafficking as well. Individuals would understand the full consequences and risks of not using protection and not getting checked for any STD’s, HIV, and more sexually transmitted diseases and even pregnancies, the signs of someone being sex trafficked, how to help someone who is being sex trafficked, it would also help individuals who aren’t sex workers but have had sexual intercorse …show more content…

Another reason why prostitution should be legal is because it would protect not only women in the sex industry who are willing to be, but unwilling children who are being sold. In Nevada U.S.A prostitution is decriminalized, and a company called ‘Brothels’ runs the sex industry there, the sex workers or prostitutes that are employed by Brothel must have a monthly blood testing for things such as HIV or Syphilis, they also have to undergo a STD and HIV test before being hired, they are also required to make their clients to wear condoms, and they set their own price and can refuse whatever client they want at their wish, some girls at the Brothel only ever see men who come daily .Other major women in our society share a similar opinion on this matter. Mellissa Bitmore, the Coordinator of the Global Network of Sex Work Projects believes that legalizing prostitution would not only help stop the widespread of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, but also help keep the sex workers safe from unwanted violence like physical or sexual abuse. …show more content…
