February 11, 2009, Rihanna filed a police report On Chris Brown for beating her. May 3, 2010, twenty-two year old Yeardley Love was found beaten to death by her boyfriend, George Huguely. The Bureau of Justice Special Report: Intimate Partner Violence says that one of every three women have been or will be in an abusive relationship in high school (Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence). I propose that further action must be taken to inform women of dating violence before it ends tragically. Dating abuse goes unvoiced because some women don’t completely understand what it is.
Regulating Prostitution Historically, although prostitution has been viewed as a threat to the moral order and a danger to public health, the state has tended to legislate for the regulation of prostitution, rather than introducing measures focussed on its elimination. Even early Christian societies did not seek to eliminate prostitution, with the Church fathers justifying this stance by asserting that "Sewers are necessary to guarantee the wholesomeness of palaces." (quoted by de Beauvoir, 1974, 618). St Augustine was adamant that prostitution should be recognised as a necessary social evil, arguing, Suppress prostitution and capricious lusts will overthrow society. (cited in Roberts, 1992, 61).

In modern society today, more and more of us accounts prostitution is acceptable in society, but most of us still believe that prostitution is harmful. I am going to start my argument with objectification. To ‘objectify someone’, is same as what the words say, to treat someone as a mere object. According to Nussbaum, “in all cases of objectification what is at issue is… treating one thing as another: One is treating as ... ... middle of paper ... ...ine the vulnerability involved with the decision, and the emotional harms brought by selling your own body to be violated, he/she might see that, prostitution is seldom beneficial to either side of the parties, or humanity, or the society. This essay doesn’t have a great deal to say the intrinsic harms and hazards of prostitution.
It is a choice to commit an abomination. America's civil rights do not involve any rights that are incorrigible. “Legal recognition of same sex marriage would necessarily obscure certain basic moral values, devalue traditional marriage, and weaken public morality.” (TFP Students 1-2) The United States of America is in danger with legalizing same sex marriage because it destroys the path that Jesus has for those involved. Same sex marriage is not a natural event that could benefit the life of any gender. Marriage should be traditional as Jesus wants it to be.
Should prostitution be legal? Prostitution is one of the oldest and most controversial professions on earth. According to records, prostitution was a normal practice of the earliest known civilizations. Ancient Greeks and Roma governments went as far as sponsoring brothels to ensure their citizens could afford a prostitute. The emergence of religions like Christianity and Islam transformed the moral views society had toward prostitution.
The stigma that prostitutes are not clean and do not use contraception make people believe sexually transmitted diseases are high amongst people involved in this service industry. Some think that a person’s body, especially a woman’s is of high value and prostitution strips it of its glory. The argument here is that a person who partakes in prostitution is immoral and does not value their body. The argument against prostitution is clear. People have been told their whole lives to treasure their body, sex is for married couples, and those who are religious think they will go to hell if they have sexual intercourse out of wedlock.

She eventually confided in a female teacher, who also testified Wednesday. Groves, 26, of Woodstock, faces sexual assault charges for allegedly having sex with one student and touching another. He is one of three former teachers at the school investigated for inappropriate relationships with students. Groves, Bradley L. Chapman and Richard Paul Adams II all resigned in spring 2001 and lost their Georgia teaching certificates. The girl said that she had a crush on Groves but that the sexual touching, which happened during school hours, made her nervous and uncomfortable.
