“There shall never be another be another season of silence until women have the same rights as men on this green earth.” Susan B. Anthony Susan B. Anthony was an important leader and left a long lasting legacy because she stood up and fought, alongside Elizabeth Cady Stanton, leading women rebelling against sexism. Susan b. Anthony started publishing the Revolution in 1868. In 1869, Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton founded the National Woman 's Suffrage Association to agitate for a 16th amendment that would outlaw disenfranchisement on account of sex. In 1872, Anthony stood up for women’s rights, demanding the right to vote in a voter registration office in Rochester, NY., on November 1, 1872, leading 14 other women,and later getting arrested. Susan B. Anthony didn’t live to see the 19th amendment passed yet she worked up until one month before her death to see sexism end. Anthony was persistent and stubborn, she fought until she got her way. Today, everyone is treated and created equal, regardless of their race or sex. One reason Anthony was a great leader is because she communicated rights and wrongs to the economy. One way she did this was by writing the Revolution, in a company of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, these two women spoke to the public. Anthony and Stanton published a newspaper called the Revolution, Anthony founded the National Woman 's Suffrage Association, and Anthony voted against the law. Anthony was a great leader and her legacy will live on forever. The 19th amendment was ratified on August 18, 1920.
