When you are able to visit the same market or leather craft store that you have been visiting weekly or annually you begin to create closer relationships and ties to the community that you’re involved in. Tony Martinez, the manager of Orox Leather described his experience with a business in the city of Portland, he states “the brand ‘Made in Oregon’ is getting a lot of attention internationally right now. It is great that we are in Portland or we’d end up in another city that doesn’t have enough emphasis on craft. The product would be unknown somewhere else.”
