Over the past few months, I have learned several different writing techniques. While all of the different types of papers were difficult to write, I believe that my writing skills have improved. However, I did not understand all of the assignments, but I did try to do my best on all of them. I should have used more transitional words. It is true that I have not had very much writing experience and the writing process is difficult for me. Sometimes, I do admit, it takes days to complete one assignment. I also have to write an essay several times before it sounds right. I did not know where to place a comma in a sentence, and had quite a few run-on sentences. I also learned how to do effective research on a subject. Additionally, I learned how to cite a source. Moreover, I learned the difference between a quote and a paraphrase. With some practice, one day I will be a proficient writer.
I found a paper from September 14, 2009. This paper was a mess. Since then, I have improved in my writing skills one hundred percent. The paper had no transitional words. I used my, he, it, his, they, and this, to get from one sentence, to another. However, I have stopped doing this. Nevertheless, I should have used more transitional words in between sentences and paragraphs. For instance, using words such as, however, provided and although are perfect words to use when beginning another paragraph. The use of these words helps make the essay flow. Furthermore, one can use these words between sentences.
Equally important was the research paper. This was one of the most difficult assignments ever assigned to me. The first day of class, we went over the syllabus. When I found out, we were required to write a ten-page paper I was a little nervous. ...

...have rebuttals, or your paper may turn out biased and one sided. Rebuttals show all sides of an argument, or disagreement. This formula helps construct a good paper, which I believe I have improved.
In conclusion, I had hoped that this class would have been easier for me, but with all academic activities, for some reason I have to work harder than most people. Disorganization and procrastination are also one of my downfalls. This sometimes interferes with my work. I have problems completing assignments; however, I worked through these problems. It would have been nice to be another Stephen King, and just be able to create interesting papers, but that is not possible with my style of writing, which is short and to the point. I believe that I have a long way to go before I can produce informative and captivating essays. I believe with hard work, I can get better.
