Growing up I was taught to strive for excellence in my academics. With my senior year coming to an end, I started to look for my future goals in life. I pursued AP classes and took AP tests in high school to challenge my critical thinking and cognitive skills. I wanted to prepare myself from taking the next step in life. After much searching and trying to get to know myself, I have decided my college/career goal to be in the medical field. I have researched the career of nurse practitioner and believe it suits me. Laredo Community College Honors program is an institution and program that can help me achieve this very important and life long goal.
Although there is a surplus amount of colleges to choose from, I found that the LCC honors program was

I see LCC Honors program as helping me achieve this desirable goal. LCC offers me guidance in how to attain my goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. The honors program would not only benefit me since I'll be helping others once I get my degree in nursing. My first goal is to finish a bachelor of Science in Nursing. Next, I would like to continue my studies with a Master of Science in Nurse Practitioner. The nursing field is a field of public service and it will allow me to help others and at the same time benefit me with a rewarding career.
Being able to enroll in this program would be a great honor and I promise to use the full extent of my knowledge to become a better student. Being accepted into the honors program will put a lot of responsibility on my shoulders and i’m ready for the challenge. Becoming a nurse will take intense hours of studying. I plan on learning how to manage my time beforehand and I hope the honors program will help me adapt using new study
National Honor Society is an awesome organization that is made up of the best academic upperclassman in the school. I think a big part of the NHS is community service and a big project that I know our NHS does is the blood drive, which helps people and could even save lives. At LWHS there are some great opportunities to be a better person and serve the community and I have another way to make that happen.
Truck driving is a much needed career to help transport goods across the United States and other local areas. Commercial Truck Driving is the career I choose to uphold. Trucking is a way of transportation needed to keep business going. Trucking has been a part of my family for years so I fell in love with trucks now I won’t to drive my own. This career has a good background, career requirements, job positions, and a good reflection.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
If accepted to the UNCW Honors College I hope to gain better academic skills, I hope to make new connections and build relationships that will benefit my future, I also hope that I will be more motivated to push myself to do better, to grow personally, and to be able to step out of my comfort zone with confidence that I can succeed.
One objective that I have learned throughout my nursing courses this semester is to translate scholarship into practice. I was so excited that I was able to apply what I learned in my current and previous nursing courses and use it for clinical this semester. Personally, I feel clinical is the missing piece to the puzzle. For example this objective applies for Foundations because we practice how to give medication and we got checked off for it. Finally we applied it into practice at clinical by passing medications numerous of times. Not only does this objective apply for foundations but it also applies to pharmacology and gerontology. Now I know how to give medications, I know the different reactions and side effects and I know how it will specifically react to the Gerontological population.
I believe I should be chosen to be a member of National Honor Society. It is a great opportunity to expand my leadership skills and get more involved with my community. I am a very hardworking student and would be incredibly honored to get the chance to prove how determined I am. If I were to be accepted into NHS I would do my best to help my peers, my school, and my town.
When notified by a few peers that they had seen my name on a nomination list for the National Honor Society, I was surprised and genuinely flattered. After researching more about what it was, it was an honor to be recognized for all I do every day in order to be successful in life. Every year I make sure I take every opportunity to get the best education I can, like all honors or AP classes. My freshman year, I took AP Biology and have to admit I was initially intimidated, but I knew if I applied myself and kept on going through the course it would benefit me in the long run and I ended with a B and was ecstatic when I discovered that I passed the AP test. Passing one AP course gave me the ambition to go ahead and take more, so next year I plan on taking three AP classes; Psychology, Environmental Science and U.S. History. Along with these, I am very set on dual enrolling. I’m willing to work as hard as I can in order to ensure my success.
As I have stated before, I have had no singular experience that has led me to the career choice of nursing. I had a natural inclination towards the profession, and as I pursued this inclination, I grew more and more passionate about nursing. Each day, I wholeheartedly put my determination to be a nurse into everything I do. Nursing is more than a career choice to me; it is a privilege for me to share my compassion with human beings. Stony Brook University School of Nursing will allow me to receive the best education, allowing me to impact others in the most profound way possible.
Nursing Corps scholarship program mission is to provide qualified and dedicated nurses to provide amazing care to patients in underserved communities. It will be an honor for me to serve and provide quality care to patients when I graduate from nursing school and pass the board exam.
My academic goal is to graduate in the Top 10% of my class. I have gained knowledge of the nursing profession through classroom training activities, local medical facility visits, inspirational speakers and mentor presentations. It has motivated me to continue my education. It has also helped me realize that taking care of the needs of others is important; the way in which I can do this is by becoming a nurse. I know this is my calling to care for others, and for me this program has made it possible. I propose to myself to get at least an A in all my
My immediate goals after completing this program is to take some time off from school, pay off our (additional) student loans, and when the time is right possibly evaluate the feasibility of pursuing my Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration or continue on in trying to obtain my Master 's Degree in Nursing. However, I currently foresee immediate challenges to those plans - my eldest child, my son, is currently a junior in high school, aspiring to become a Pharmacist and attend UH Hilo. In addition, my daughter, who is three years younger to my son, is aspiring to become an Ophthalmologist. So as with any parents, I may put my goal aside to help both my children achieve their goals.
My mother and I decided my current high school would be the best choice as I’ve had the privilege to be a part of a very demanding medical program. While maintaining my GPA and completing all high school diploma requirements by my junior year, I’ve also managed to conquer the requirements for the LPN Program in which I have been successful thus far. During my sophomore and junior years, I was also dual enrolled at Broward College where I earned 13 credits towards my college
...ram many people with 3.5 grade point averages and above who met the minimum requirements were still not admitted because of the rigorous selection process. You attend four years of college to receive your education needed to be qualified to take the NCLEX examination after graduation. After graduation you are still not licensed to practice nursing. You must pass your state boards to get your nursing license. Many people do not realize the extent of education and experience the career requires. While in college you also complete clinicals in different areas in nursing practice such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and mental health units. You gain key experience in the hospitals before even graduating. If people truly understood the hours of studying and clinical experience needed for this career I feel I would be much more respected in society.
Success can be measured in multiple ways, depending on the person and on the circumstances. I entered into the accelerated nursing program with the goal of successfully completing the required courses and ultimately becoming a successful nurse. This program is very fast-paced and requires a lot of time and effort in order to be successful, so it is important to create a plan in order to successfully complete the program with the appropriate knowledge and skills. Included in my plan for success are multiple strategies that I will apply every day for the duration of this program. My plan is to make my nursing
My junior year in high school in the Health care program consist of class room learning medical terminology, pharmacology and skills of being nurse; however, in my senior year, I had the privilege to attend clinical at local nursing homes, hospitals and veterinary clinics. Clinical in health care program, in high school was an eye opening experience and consist of me shadowing the nurses that I was assigned to. I had the opportunity to see what nurses have to deal with and it does take a special person. My experience in the Health care program and working firsthand with the sick and elderly patients has supported and confirm that I have what it takes to become a nurse. I enjoyed the experience of shadowing nurses so much that I volunteered at the Lowman Home, a nursing home in my community during my spare time while I was in high school. I was assigned to work with elderly patient who had Alzheimer; I would read, play games and interact with the patients; I enjoy see the smile that I put on their faces by taking time with
