While other late-night networks broadly target the adult audience, Adult Swim has taken on a different set of adults. The majority of the current crops of young-adults no longer follow conservative and conventional social norms and ideologies. While prime time networks still maintain old traditions, Adult Swim has gone against the grain, offering specific programs to accommodate the modern young-adult. Most millennial young-adults prefer programs that appeal to their current way of life and desires, such as nudity, sexual themes, strong language, and love when the prominent in the society is put on the spot but sarcastically and hilariously. For these reasons, most millennial prefer Adult Swim to other cable networks with programs such as Family Guy and Boondocks. Family Guy is a satirical comedy that addresses the daily challenges an average American family undergoes. On the other hand, Boondocks represent the freedom and self-actualization of an African American in the American society. Culture shift has played a critical role in the television industry as a whole. While other cable networks like Adult Swim realized it early enough and embraced its future implications, others did not follow suit.
