The course of Last Christmas emphasize a girl with a broken heart but this year is willing find someone special. The song states that Last Christmas she gave her heart ,but the next day he gave it away, this year she'll give it to someone special. The song Last Christmas by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley is well know and many artist have done covers. It impacts the song because with personification it would be an object that is nonhuman and with dialogue it is a conversation with more than two people also personification .It also indicates that the author is talking to someone that has been in a relationship with the author .But the other person has broken the heart of her. In the rest of the song the course is repeated to say the
When reading a book, is really hard to get the attention of the reader. Who is interested with hearing once upon a time? For me, I would eater the novel start off with something relatable then ease me into the plot. Life doesn’t always start off as a fairytale so I prefer that my novels don’t either. So while reading this novel, I was evaluating not only the author but the content and if it would live up to the hype.

There are two examples of personification in places in the song. Both examples have to do with reindeer. In the first example the reindeer are described as poking fun of Rudolph because of his unique red nose, just like little children. The line read “All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names”. In the second example, the reindeer actually speak. The sleigh team now needs Rudolph and accept him after Santa Claus sees his value. They tell Rudolph that
The movie “Save The Last Dance” directed by Thomas Carter, is a story about a white female named Sara, who moved to south Chicago to live with her dad after her mom had died in a tragic car accident during Sara’s audition for Julliard, school of dance. Sara doesn’t get accepted into Julliard and starts school in south Chicago which is located on the rougher side of town. At this new school, Sara meets Chenille and Chenille’s brother Derek, who are both African-American. Chenille and Derek take Sara to a club which is completely out of her element because this club centers their dancing around hip hop and Sara only has experience in ballet and contemporary dance. Derek agrees to give Sara lessons on how to dance hip-hop. While teaching her
At the beginning of the novel, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Scrooge isolates himself from humanity. To isolate means to be alone and apart from others. He isolates himself and doesn 't care about other people. As the novel progresses, he begins to attach himself to humanity through the memories he is shown, and he starts to care about other people again. He makes a transition between total isolation to starting to become less detached from humanity throughout the first 3 staves. His journey, led by the spirits who show him the past and present, make him become a better person in the end. Scrooge goes on a journey from total isolation to becoming more attached to humanity throughout the first three staves in the novel, A Christmas Carol,
Christmas, a time of the year to cherish with loved ones where one will search for perfect gifts and hope to receive the same amount of thought back. Some may ask for more extravagant items such as a yacht, decorations from Tiffany’s, and a ring. The catchy tune, “Santa Baby” originally sung by Eartha Kitt requests for these and more in a short, light hearted tune. Other singers such as Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande created covers of the song and, while generally sing the same tune change the tempo and some lyrics to fit their style. In my opinion Taylor Swift blew Kitt and Grande out of the water with her rendition. The usage of honky-tonk style, change of a few words, and tone of her voice surpass the original and other cover. Each version represented itself differently, all while maintaining the same message however, I feel Swift’s performance stood out the best.
... is the most important line in the poem. I think the author used personification here to make the image clearer to the reader, and help them make the connection from the line to life. The line gives the idea that the author has had to overcome his own struggles in life, and is describing how it felt in this poem.
Later in Sweeney Todd Sondheim continues to play with the techniques of Brech and Weill to shock his audience. The well-known Act I closing song, “A Little Priest”, is the moment when Sweeney and his partner in crime Mrs. Lovett conspire to bake Sweeney’s victims into meat pies. This gruesome song could be very appalling if it was not set to an up-tempo waltz in which Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett joke about which profession would make the most delicious pie filling. The waltz style is traditionally thought of as a style of love, so the harsh contradiction with lyrics about conspiring murder is what makes the song very memorable (Taylor 85). This juxtaposition of style and lyrics is exactly what Weill and Brecht accomplished in Threepenny. This technique
Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol to bring these conditions to light. Many more fortunate people in Victorian London would rather not think about the poor, even though most slums were right next to the wealthy areas of London. In many ways this blinder effect continues today. One example of this is the fact that none of the film adaptations of this story contain any of the truly gruesome details of the living conditions of the poor in this era. Dickens wanted to bring attention to these conditions because as a child he had experienced some of these hardships. Though he was never as poor as the most impoverished in London, as a child his family had lived in debt. His father, mother, and most of his siblings were sent to debtors’ prison to pay for that debt, and Dickens, himself, was sent to work in a factory at a young age. He did not work in the factory for long, but it did influence many of his works. His works also deal with the importance of home and family, as well as kindness and generosity. Dickens addresses both of these themes in A Christmas Carol.
.... These lines in the song sum up to the fact the when you are fifteen you heart does get broken and you do look back and wish you never fell for the act and that boys don’t mean everything sometimes you need to put yourself first and think about what you want in life. This songs also ties back to the poem as this song is like a war aswell she had to battle through getting her heart broken.

Dear Germanna English Professors, The song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol is a piece of art that I have grown up to love over the years of listening to it. When I first heard this song, I was young and didn’t understand the concept of love and relationships. I just liked the tune and listened to it often. My first interpretation of this song was that Gary Lightbody (the singer of Snow Patrol) lost someone and was missing them, especially when they played the song many times on Grey’s Anatomy for whenever someone important to the show died. When I listened to it again without thinking of my previous interpretation, I started to believe that it is a love song, and he just wants to sit down and enjoy the little things with someone he loves. After I changed my interpretation of the song, I analyzed the context and the tone of Lightbody’s words.
With Disney, you cannot feel unhappy. Disney songs are memorable no matter how old you are. The songs the composers create are catchy. Some are annoying but most are catchy and lighthearted. Which helps to create friendships in life. Whether it’s to break the ice or to feel good, a friend you have will not only know a Disney song, but will shamelessly sing it with you out in public. But the biggest thing with these songs are how they connect with our hearts.
Christmas comes around once each year but there is a lot to do before Christmas Day. Christmas Day is December 25th and usually people start counting down the days till Christmas starting on December 1st. Of course, my family is different. We start counting down the days till Christmas right after Thanksgiving Day. Christmas is by far my favorite holiday for various reasons, one being that I love decorating our Christmas tree. Another thing I love to do is make Christmas goodies with my family. Lastly, I love receiving presents. Christmas is a time of year when we all can come together as a family.
