Lana Del Rey, whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, is a singer songwriter born on June 21st, 1985 in New York City. She is the daughter of two Grey Group executives and lived in Lake Placid, NY. She was the cantor in her church choir and attended a catholic elementary school. Whenever she was 15 she was sent away to boarding school in order to deal with her alcohol dependence that she discusses in her song This Is What Makes Us Girls. After graduation she took a gap year to stay with family turning down being accepted to a prestigious school, to waitress. Along with her hair her deep set eyes, winged eyeliner, and pouty lips, her a unique look is one that no other pop artist has. Lana has a thin stature with long legs and laid back smile. Lana has a crooked smile that shines like white pearls. Her retro style is highly sought after, as well for its polished look that reflects the 1960s and 70s. In college she study metaphysics, a branch of philosophy that deals with the fundamental nature of reality and being. She identifies as a roman catholic and says that her studies made her closer to God. She stated that she lived the idea of a “divine plan” and that someone “is looking out” for her. Lana has been scrutinized for her comments about feminism. Saying that she is not interested and that she doesn’t believe in it. Lana also has a history with dating older men.
