Do people ever feel like they have a connection with a fellow person but they do not communicate to figure out their problems? In Shakespeare's Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth have a strong connection and they communicate in the beginning of the play. Even though Lady Macbeth is to be the star of their relationship, Macbeth and her are named the power couple and destruction together. In the middle of the play the power couple starts to have a downfall and their communication becomes weak. After the murder of Duncan and Banquo they do not communicate and Macbeth leaves Lady Macbeth on the outside of his decisions. Then in the end, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth both grow very apart and each die in a matter of seconds in ways they never thought were possible. It is now the death of Lady Macbeth that was the physical stage of downfall of the marriage. In the play, Shakespeare shows that Macbeth shows no affection at all and he does not sit and mourn. Macbeth at last encounters Macduff on the battlefield. They fight, and when Macbeth insists that he is invincible because of the witches’ prophecy, Macduff tells Macbeth that he was not of woman born, but rather “from his mother’s womb / Untimely ripped”. Macbeth does though, die as a warrior, general, and a soldier on the battlefield. Ambition and bloodlust must be checked by virtue for order and form to be restored to the sound and fury of human existence.
