I come from a country where so you see the desarrollno not been as acerelado like I'm enscuentro me , usa. but I can alo very important to note in this book , which is that when you have an idea, you can have a plan ejcucion , but many people are needed to support and believe in this plan to succeed . THE Canal, was supplanted by other means of faster transportation , and in winter could work. "If the Erie Canal compressed distance and time , the railroads annihilated them , or so it Appeared to the amazed observer in the mid - nineteenth century" . During Gregory’s ethnographic research in the Dominican Republic, he encounters many individuals, some tourists, others expatriates, as well as citizens native to the island. One individual by the name of Minaya, discusses changes in the sugar cane industry. In 1988 he became a worker at a sugar mill that his uncle owned, but claimed that the industry became “Capitalized” (Gregory 2007: 15). He explains this capitalization as the industry being leased out to private corporations, which incurred poor working conditions and minimal wages upon the laborers. Minaya also expresses the fact he has no formal education, a big factor...

It is the guiding proposition of this paper that the aforementioned Exceptionalism is due to a combination of visionary state building efforts on the part of local political actors, and a series of fortuitous circumstances present in the early stages of the process. The paper has been divided into SEVEN sections, each with subtitle in the form of a name of an important figure from Costa Rica’s collective historical memory. This division seeks to allow for the reader to navigate the different stages in the formation of the Costa Rican state with ease, but also to illustrate the way in which these notable individuals became symbols of their epoch and, more importantly, of their legacy and the impact their actions had on the formation of a national identity.

The economy of Latin American countries such as Argentina have often focused on only one main product at a time and imported many of the other products needed. Argentina especially followed this economic strategy in the late 1800’s. Latin American countries focus on one product it does well and does not stray from that product. The countries were just following trends and taking advantage of what the market dictates is a worthwhile product. This strategy can fall short of having long-term success and lead to a land of poverty. This was the case in most every country in Latin America, and all the economy revolved around the growth of industry in each country. Technology, increased immigration, European influence, and political policy all influenced the economic state of Latin American countries and led to economic struggles.
After the fall of the ISI standard, many questions began to arise in regards to how Latin American countries should move forward in its development, improve growth, and create jobs. From around the 1930s until the 1980s after many Latin American countries became independent, they wanted to have economic success and become somewhat economically independent and self-sustaining. Initially these countries thought that the best way to move forward with was Import Substitution Industrialization (ISI). However, when the 1980s came around these counties realized that ISI was not the best policy for the economy or the future. ISI lead inefficient industries because they were not exposed to international competition, the focus was not on the rural sector and lead to impoverishing the local producers, and the extreme protectionist ideals did more harm than good. The issue that has to be resolved as Latin America moves forward pertains to unemployment and the job market; many countries are trying to fix the issues that surround the job market and define who are the people that actually have jobs so that those that do not can learn what they need to in order to become employed.
The challenge of Cuba’s developing economy is low productivity and labor force of the economy as a whole. The Miami Herald revealed that, “Granma and Yzquierdo indicated a list of reasons for Cuba’s economic inactivity, such as deferrals in projects to broken contracts and “the low productivity and deficiency of the workforce” along with the economic circumstances in Latin America in addition to the rest of the world”. Cuba’s GDP growth for first part of 2013 is assessed at 2.3 percent, compared to 2.1 percent similar time for 2012 Cuba practices a unique approach of calculating GDP that embellishes the number compared to other countries”. (Tamayo, 2013) Negative radical policies have remained in decline in its productivity of the developing economy, and the most significant challenge encountering established order is how to incentivize the market toward the increasing development in production and productivity. All goods and services make up an economy real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is produced from labor and capital resources. The determinants of economic development are the accessibility of economic resources (quality of labor and capital) and productivity factors (human capital and technology). Cuba can be managed by encouraging sustainable consumption and production, managing the natural resources for the benefit of ecological and social expansion. Provide some form of urgency towards human development, with the eradication of poverty as its crucial objective. Human development success depends on the extent by utilizing the opportunities created through globalization, diminishing its negative effects. In addition, Cuba can b...

...f Colombia. It is not only to protect the environment, is the socio-economic stability of Colombia that can be changed if certain politicians continue to have a narrative that supports the 3 E’s of sustainability. Additionally, I intend to show to my audience that we need to change the concept of development in order to conserve nature. In fact we should follow the definition stated in the sustainability revolution: “Sustainable development was defined as ‘development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’” (jfsdjksdlsdk 22). I will manage to organize my research paper to critically evaluate every aspect and detail of Santurban’s case to conclude if they follow and ecological and social justice. If this is not the case what is lacking in order to achieve the main goal of sustainable mining.
Throughout the 20th century Latin America has been a virtual laboratory of development strategies. The principal objective was to discover the solution for the economic puzzle of the region. When attempting to explain underdevelopment, the interaction between the state and the market has been at the core of several theorists. There have been different economic approaches implemented to tackle this issue. Each of them would differ in the degree of importance of external economic relations in their national economies, as well as, the degree of intervention of the government. In the 1950s, responding to Prebisch’s Dependency Theory Latin American governments implemented Import Substitution Industrialization (ISI). Which was a strategy focused
