Some governments want to ban social media in their countries. Some of them did this, and the others can't do this because most of the people don't agree with them. Social media became a part of peoples life, and for some people, social media became all of their life. On the other hand, some people think that social media is dangerous, and should be banned. Actually, there is a danger of everything in this life. The life is also dangerous. Some measures are taken in order to protect people from the dangers of life. Social media is similar to the real life, and the same thing can be applied. Some measures can be taken in the social media, but it should not be banned as the real life can not be banned. As a result, social media should certainly not be banned by governments.
Some people argue that people can insult others freely in social media which can be prevented by government. They think like that because of two main reasons. The first reason is that the people who are insulted in the social media are disturbed. Many people complained about the insults. Because of that, some people litigate, and they want that the people who insult must be punished. The second reason is that the governments may also be exposed to insults. The governments who are insulted and the supporters of this governments complain about that, so they want to ban the social media. However, banning the social media can not be a solution of these situations. There are mant acceptable solutions such as blocking and reporting. Accounts who are insulting the people can be blocked by the people who are disturbed. For example,, if someone insults you on the social media sites, you can block that account, and s/he can not contact you anymore. Reporting can also be a s...

...ical ability or some illnesses. They can also contact with the outsied world by using social media. For example, they can find their friens on social media sites, and spend time with them online. They can see themselves or play games together etc. As a result, social media is a good way to communicate for people, and this should not be banned by governments.
In conclusion, although there are negative points of social media, these can be solved by simple solutions. There is no reason to ban the social media. People can see this situtation easily, but some people such as governments don't want to see that. They want to ban social media because they want to control people's minds. They want to direct people by using media, but social media which should not be banned by governments doesn't allow them. People have to keep the social media in order to live independently.
The internet is a place where people can freely express their political or other views for people to see. A recent study, Freedom of Net, by the activist group Freedom House shows both the immense censorship of information around the world and the declining freedom of information around the world, “Two-thirds of all internet users, 67 per cent, live in countries where criticism of the government, military, or ruling family are subject to censorship” (APF & Bell). The report by Freedom House digs into the censorship of government criticism, military criticism, and negative views on the ruling family in two thirds of countries studied in the report with governments around the world are silencing the voices of people and their publications. By censoring the people's voices, the governments are able to control the population and their views on not only their own government, but also countries around the world. Governments around the world are stepping up their censorship of public information posted on social media by taking actions to suppress the publications before they even begin. The report by Freedom House shares how police around the world are arresting and punishing those who have taken to social media to complain about a topic that makes the country look bad. The report states: “Social media users face unprecedented penalties, as authorities in 38 countries made
What is social media? According to Merriam Webster, it a “form of electronic communication through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content.” “While the Internet has always allowed individuals to participate in media not only as consumers but also as producers, the social aspect of media did not flourish until the 2000s (Media Convergence).” Social media is perceived negatively primarily through the eyes of older generations simply because they did not have the advanced technology we do in this day and age. Social media has been described as one of the worst things that has happened to society but I disagree. I believe that social media is beneficial in the way
Over the past few years, social media has had a significant effect on the communication, knowledge, and public reaction to assorted topics in our society today. Social media has been a great addition to our society today in helping spread news more quickly and makes us communicate more efficiently, but the negatives overshadow the positives. Specific types of social media such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have been a catalyst to giving people the opportunities to expose topics and voice their opinions to the public eye. We see athletes, celebrities, and politicians being affected by this every day. In our lives today, everyone has lost their right to privacy due to the expansions and advances of social media. Whenever a tweet is posted on Twitter or a picture is posted on either Instagram or Facebook, many people will emphasize their opinion and sometimes create negative views that can hurt the person being talked about or viewed. We have seen in many major topics in the news, reporters and writers will blast certain topics out of proportion. News stations even affect social media because they often use posts in their reporting. Thus, people will continue to voice their views on social media, causing its influence to continually grow. Social Media has the ability to violate our personal privacy and expose the negative interpretations on people and topics in society.
We can conclude that there are a huge deal of negative and positive aspects when we refer to the Internet as we already saw, however, what we should do is to take advantage of every progress in development offered by it, without forgetting that everything in excess is harmful for us. Using your Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram account won’t isolate you from the society, but using social networks as the only means of communication is not the healthiest choice you can make. Find the balanced life you need and deserve, including in it an active social life in the outside world too. As Queen Rania of Jodan once said, “Social media are a catalyst for the advancement of everyone 's rights. It is where we are reminded that we are all human and all equal. It is where people can find and fight for a cause, global or local, popular or specialized, even when there are hundreds of miles between
Over the past couple of decades, we are all aware that social media has had a great impact on us and the way we think. Social media has revolutionized the way people communicate and socialize on a daily basis. It has been spreading propaganda on how we should live our lives, how to act, what’s right and wrong, what’s good for us and many more. It is double edge sword that hinders people’s abilities to think for their self, but has open such a vast world to share one another 's opinions in a matter of seconds on the internet or television.
Since schools were established there has a always been a limit on students freedom of speech such as the use of their language and verbal expression. However, many students today believe these limits are restricting their freedom when they are in an outside environment and are questioning whether the schools have the right and should place limits regarding social media outside outside of a school environment. The question of whether schools should place limits regarding social media is not merely a law but it is linked to the way students express themselves online and the use of freedom of speech granted as an alienable right outside of school. As a result, the issue is very controversial and has attracted lot of debate among teachers and students.
Some believe that social networking sites should be controlled by the government as it would protect our fellow children and maybe another generation. It has been reported in the news for some time that some children have been bullied on these sites which caused them to commit suicide. Was the invention of social networking sites good or bad? Not all children use social networking sites to create havoc or destroy other people’s lives and many agree they have a positive effect. There are many people who disagree with social networking sites being controlled by the government.
Social media has impacted everyone that has used it at some point in his or her life. Since the world is increasing in technology advances, so is social media, which can be good and bad. Technology has made a huge difference in the world and definitely how people are doing things now. Yes, the Internet can be good for the majority of things we use it for, such as doing research, keeping in touch with family or friends who are far away, and saving time and money. Others like to take advantage of social media and use it in a way that can hurt people; it may not hurt them physically, but it can hurt them emotionally.
Social media has nothing but negative effects on people’s minds. Social networking can become very addicting and people can get wrapped up in the drama and excitement of the cyber world. It would only improve our society today if social media never existed to our knowledge. Our society today feels so connected with social media that it interferes with our lives making every task even harder with the temptations.
We absolutely cannot use social media as platform to insult people if we have any problem with others. Be matured and think smart. We should use social media wisely. This is because social media have many benefits that can help us. It is good to use social media but some people use social media for wrong purpose. It is quite sad to see people misuse social media because it can give many benefits to us. With this cases some people think social media is bad and can influence bad things to citizens. So they reject social media in their life. So it is quite lost for them because social media can give many benefits, because of certain irresponsible people that use social media for purpose. Besides that, people use social media to influence people towards bad things. Supposedly we can use media to spread kindness and information. Social media is one of the main medium in Malaysia to spread things. This is because Malaysian citizens used social media as main medium for everything. So people kind to misuse this things to spread bad things such as hatred towards people, royalty and leaders. This can influence young generations to make the same things. As we know young generations are tend to follow older people. The probability for them to influence are high. We did not want our new generations that have bad thinking. Next things to be concerned is our citizens tend to believe easily things in social media without know either it is true or not. They just
There are about one and a half billion users of social media worldwide. It can be used to meet new people, find old friends, chat the day away, join interest groups, or even to share pictures. Social networks were mostly created so people could meet and find new friends. What most users of social media don't know, are the dangers of using social media. One example is when you meet a person online, because they are not always who they say they are. If someone is not who you may think they are, who could they be? They can be a stalker or a person that wants to steal your identity; which could be done easily thanks to new developments of new technology. Also thanks to new technology it is now easier for people using your information to track you. Posting personal information can risk your family and friends lives. Social media can be used as a weapon against you. It can even lead to a kidnapping, or even someone's death. Many people use social media to help to waste time, but could also become an unhealthy addiction. Also social media can damage your future. When you are a teen you tend to post pretty much anything you want. This is dangerous because you can post too much personal information. What most teens don't realize is that what they do on social media now can affect them for the rest of their life. It can even come back to haunt you in the future. Social media is dangerous because it makes it easier to be stalked, identity theft to happen, kidnappings and murders, and also can ruin your future.
Social media is a controversy topic in today’s society. Some people think that social media destroys human interaction and real life human relationships. While others think that social media is a bless to humanity. Social media makes human interaction much more convenient and much faster than real life human interaction, it makes globalization a reality, it gives a chance for introverted people to express themselves, and it also benefit develop international relationships whether its business or social.
Social media has a positive impact on the world and is able to allow a better future. It is able to improve communication by making it easier to talk to people via Facebook chatting. Also augments education by making kids use websites that are similar to these social networking sites and giving them a feel of what is right and wrong. Finally it positively impacts the economy, and the fact that these sites are not used just for casual use anymore, but can create job opportunities. All of these reasons tie into the greater message that social media is positive for the world because it creates a better environment, a potential future in which we
With the way the world is now it should not be a surprise to anyone that social media has literally taken over the world in this day and age. From late 2008 to early 2009 the size of Facebook users doubled from 100 million to 200 million in eight months, and was already up to 400 million by early 2010. Twitter also raised its number of users in 2009 from 4.5 million to 20 million (Zandt). These numbers just show what Facebook and Twitter have accomplished. Other social media sites that are getting more and more popular are Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Pinterest, and many others social media websites that people use on a daily basis. With one in four people using social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, it is no wonder that all of these social media websites are considered to be important (Whiteman). With a few clicks of a button or taps on a screen, a person can be connected to family and friends in every corner of the world. Social media can even allow people to see what their favorite celebrities are doing with their lives. According to Honor Whiteman,”Social media defines an array of internet sites that enable people from all over the world to interact. This can be through discussion, photos, video and audio (Whiteman).” Social media is a beast in its own right that is used by a multitude of people all over the world everyday for things such as updating their Twitter status for personal use to updating a company 's Facebook page on a weekly basis. Yes, there is no doubt about it, social media has done its share of very good things, but there is also an entire list of the negative things about using these websites that can really make a person question if they should even be on them. Social media are to help people keep in touch whether they are living far off with to each other. In social media it may lead to negative side when these tools being misused by the user where they are interference into user privacy. This shows that there will be many more threats and risks the user will face if they do not take active steps to protect their privacy, rather than relying on the social networking sites policies.
