... middle of paper ...
On July 26, 1953, the war for Cuba’s independence began, and for 6 years many Cubans fought for their freedom. The most famous of these revolutionary icons being Fidel Castro, who led the main resistance against the Cuban government. On January 1, 1959, Fidel Castro and the rest of the Cuban's succeeded. This revolutionary war went on to affect the entire world and Eric Selbin believes it is still affecting it. Throughout Eric Selbin's article, Conjugating the Cuban Revolution, he firmly states that the Cuban revolution is important in the past, present, and future. Selbin, however, is wrong.
Based on the foregoing purpose, this paper will present the histories of the beginnings and the endings of Viking civilization in both Iceland and Greenland. Then it will try to find out the reasons for the differences in final results through comparing and contrasting the ways by which Vikings lived their life. These ways are categories into four aspects: politics, economy, culture and diplomacy.

The measures taken by Castro and explicitly stated by him at his trial in 1954, from the very beginning of his anti-Batista movement illustrate his initial desires to reform Cuba and ultimately increase its standard of living. Different understandings can be perceived by reading various books and documents that focus on the political changes shaping Cuba’s modern-day society. Each illustrates different aspects of the insurrection while simultaneously giving the reader an accurate depiction of the historical occurrences. Authors Perez-Stable and Patterson focus on the turbulent circumstances that lead Cuba through the various leaders, each with his own agenda trying to better the lives of Cuban citizens. In the speech given by Castro at his own trial entitled, "History Will Absolve Me", Castro outlines the ideologies and beliefs that justify his reasons for initiating his revolutionary movement against Fulgencio Batista. The document of the "Program Manifesto of the 26th of July Movement", gives a first-hand understanding of what Castro and his group of supporters were going to fight to achieve through a Revolution. Finally, one can understand the tribulations that these men overcame when reading through Guevara’s perspective found in his chapter titled, "One Year of Armed Struggle". By understanding how Castro’s movement began and how it evolved, one can note the key components of the changes and reforms being demanded of the Cuban government during the 1950’s.

In the situation Castro was in, his resources of other comrades like Guevara and his knowledge of Cuba and the Cuban people were evident in his successful entry and acceptance in Cuba as a revolutionary. Furthermore, Batista’s frantic, brutal retaliation against the people of his own country paved the way toward his downfall by losing civilian and international support, that all eventually ended up in Castro’s hands. In taking the country in 2 years time, Castro has been one of the most successful revolutionaries in history and is a prime example of the effects of guerrilla warfare when integrated properly with the desires of the society that is being undertaken. Castro stated in History Will Absolve Me “They [Batista's military dictatorship] have tried to establish the myth that modern arms render the people helpless to overthrow tyrants” (Castro), he claims of the power a group of people with a common goal have, even in an unlikely situation, and he went on 5 years later to confirm this with the success of the 26th of July Movement.
The competition starts to increase, with more than 30 to 40 companies, however Bergqvist’ company still partly remained its own position as it the first one in the region. As a member of local tourism industry, Bergqvist also entered restaurant business. He needed to have full time staff. However, he soon realized that his tourist business was just seasonal. It could make money in the summer; however, in winter no one would like to travel in cold and dark. The local tourist office even closed in the winter; therefore, this required Bergqvist having new ideas to help his company survive in the winter season. Bergqvist had thought about other winter destination as Alaska. They had many Japanese tourists. Bergqvist contacted with Scandinavian Tourist Board – a Swedish tourist company in Japan. He wanted to tourists from Japan as well as other countries to Sweden in the winter. After a trip to Hokkaido when they had the big ice festival, Bergqvist invited ice sculpture artist- Aoki to Sweden to create ice sculptures in
The Swedish Criminal Justice System is one by comparison to other countries, a well oiled machine. Before recognizing the aspects of the criminal justice system of Sweden, there is some history that has to be brought into the light. Sweden and Finland are very similar in comparison, whether that is the close geographical position of both countries or the similarities of cultures or maybe due to the fact that they are both apart of the Nordic Welfare State. Sweden and Finland both have the world’s oldest homicide statistics, which started in the mid-1700’s. Sweden, like many other countries has been through multiple political-social changes and developments throughout the last few centuries. They did not participate in either of the World Wars,
