The tomb of King Tutankhamun, an Egyptian Pharaoh, was an extravagant find for archaeologists. The contents of the tomb were beautiful and the tomb was the only tomb in the Valley of the Kings that the contents were not stolen. King Tutankhamen, mainly known for his lavish tomb, that contained priceless treasures such as, artwork, wall art, chariots, furniture, statues, wood carvings, sarcophagi, and jewelry. King Tutankhamen restored the religion and the capital, he was a successful ruler, but he is mainly famous for his tomb. King Tutankhamen claimed the throne and became pharaoh at the age of nine. He ruled for ten years until his death at nineteen, the cause of his death is unknown. The Egyptians’ universal god, was restored, and polytheism was restored. The god was abandoned under Akhenaton, Tutankhamen’s assumed father, and the former ruler of Egypt. The city of Thebes was made Egypt's capital once again. Made entirely out of ivory, the headrest consisted of three parts: a flat base, a small central pillar, and a curved support for the head. The ivory headrest is held up by Shu, god of the air, holding the curved piece. Legend states that Shu ended chaos when the universe was formed, by raising the sky, which symbolized his daughter Nut, high above the earth which symbolized his son Geb. The action of raising the sky had to be continued, if Shu failed to do so, it would result in the sky falling and chaos would return.
