Enlightenment Era By: Madison Stich Block 3 King James was born on June 19, 1566. His parents were King Henry and Mary Queen of Scotland. He was born in Scotland. He was known to the English as King James I and with the Scottish people he was known as King James VI. King James l became King of Scotland when he was only 13 months old. He took over the throne in 1581. He became the King of England in 1603 after Queen Elizabeth died. King James l married Anne of Denmark 7 children. Their oldest son became King Charles I after King James died A daughter Elizabeth Stuart became the Queen Of Bohemia, Henry Frederick was the Prince Of Wales. King James and Anne had three more daughters, Mary Stuart, Sophia Stuart, Margaret Stuart, and one son Robert Stuart, Duke Of Kintyre King James was 58 years old when he died. King James I was best known for keeping peace between Scotland and England. He was a well liked King because he made sure there were no wars. His parents are Christopher Wren and Mary Cox. He was born in East Knoyle. He was in private at home for few years. Then he went to school at Westminster School and in 1649.Then he attended the Wadham College in Oxford. In 1651 Wren graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. He also completed his M.A. in the next two years. In school he studied on astronomy, physics, and anatomy. In 1669 Wren married Faith Coghill. Faith was the daughter of Sir John Coghill of Bletchingdon. Wern and faith had two sons Gilbert, who died at the age of 18 months and Christopher. Faith died in 1675. Then he married again in 1677 to Jane Fitzwilliam. Jane was the daughter of William FitzWilliam or he was known as 2nd Baron FitzWilliam. He and Jane had two children.
