There was a death in the Trap house. Arthur Trap is lying at the bottom of the stairs dead with a glass in his hand. Was this a regrettable accident or murder? His spouse, Queenie Trap, claims that Arthur was drunk and fell down the stairs causing his death. Some may argue that Arthur’s death was an accident, however, the investigators should rule Arthur’s death a murder because of the suspicious body position and Queenie’s presence and claims. The arrangement of Arthur’s body at the bottom of the stairs, makes the scene appear orchestrated. Queenie said Arthur fell coming down the stairs. However, Arthur’s body is facing up and his feet are on the bottom steps. If he had fallen, the momentum would have carried him past the bottom steps and he would have landed face down on his stomach. Arthurs is holding an unbroken glass in his left hand. If Arthur fell down the stairs he would have dropped the glass in order to grab the banister railing or the wall. …show more content…

Some may say Queenie is a petite woman and not physically able to murder Arthur. However, that point is not important since it would be easy to come up behind Arthur, who was intoxicated, and hit him with something causing the wound on his head. Skeptics of murder would claim Queenie’s behavior reflects that she could not have known he died at eight pm since she went to the country club party for five hours. However, Queenie stated that Arthur died when she returned home after midnight in direct conflict with the autopsy report. Those who oppose murder would say Queenie‘s friends testified that she invited them over for a drink after the country club party. However, Queenie could have invited her friends over as an alibi and to keep others from suspecting that she killed him. At first glance Queenie’s behavior and size appear to provide evidence of an accident, however, a closer inspection reveals proof of a
