Was kevin rudd's speech enough

We’ve all had our mishaps in the past where we regret what we did and wish we could change it or fix what we had done. But having a simple speech to say you are sorry is not enough to apologise to the Aboriginals about taking their children and taking the new generation away from them. The speech Kevin Rudd had represented in 2008 was merely a joke and is very disappointing that this is all the government is doing. For many of those more involved it was something altogether more complex and certainly not an act that brought any sense of finality or closure.

Many people agree that this is not enough for an apology and there should be more done than what is already being done. Mainly we should be giving back their sacred lands it's rightfully theirs Australia has long refused to give back land to aboriginals. But they didn't embrace all and aboriginals still today are being treated like they aren't like us. In 2016 there was multiple deaths in an sanctuarie that aboriginals called Utopia which is very excluded. The deaths were caused by starvation and infections, this could have been avoided easily. The government new about this place and did not support them in anyway even after the aboriginals asked for help, food and better shelter. Another example of the government's “embrace all Australians” is how there have been multiple deaths of aboriginals in detention centres and police holding cells.
