He was the second best player in high school which is why he is a good player, He went to the University of texas for a year on a full-ride scholarship. During the Draft he was picked only behind Greg Oden and picked second overall. Then he was the number two draft pick behind Greg Oden getting drafted by The Seattle Supersonics. Kevin Durant is a three time NBA scoring champion, and a three time NBA all star. Something interesting i find about Kevin Durant is his jersey number. He wears the number 35 because it is in honor of his coach Charles Craig, who was his AAU basketball coach, and his childhood mentor. Craig passed away at the age 35 of multiple Gunshot wounds.(NewsOk). So he wears the number 35 in memory of his coach. He made varsity basketball as a freshman in high school because he worked hard, on his AAU basketball and his Youth Basketball clubs his brothers and sister. He was voted McDonalds All American in high school.
Some interesting facts about Kevin Durant is that he wears a backpack to every single press conference. He had amazing stats in his career as a Texas Longhorn Athlete.
