The classes can be altered to tend to the interests of children, so they can properly express themselves. School should be preparing children to be mature, how to handle hard situations, and ultimately prepare them for their future lives. Overall, Gatto’s article has its flaws, but it can be used to help improve the education system for upcoming
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
An educational system should not control its students’ minds; instead, it should be arranged in a way that builds the students’ success with a goal to lead a person to conquer his/her purposes.
Many great minds believe that education is a powerful tool. Investing in your education is the most valuable and most rewarding thing a person can do to secure their future. Influential people who have brought positive changes to the world have said: “The investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. (Franklin). “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. (Nelson Mandela). “A brighter future starts with an education”. (Montgomery).
“The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one “- Malcolm Forbes (Brainy Quotes Inc, 2015). I believe each child has the ability to learn and achieve in any circumstance. Every child has something unique to offer in the world. As an educator it is critical to have a desire for teaching students, because educators makes a difference. Following my philosophy, I will help my students to rise to their potential by giving them a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which they can grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually.
Nowadays we live in a world where education is vital and every parent wishes to see their children thrive in education. Now people are becoming more concerned about
Education is the source of all power allowing people to achieve any dream they choose. A person without a true education is nothing more than an empty shell living an empty and pointless life. The process of education begins at conception and the human mind continues to learn until the time of their death but most lessons are learned in the first five years of life. When the topic of education is discussed it isn’t how much is needed but how best to provide the education. The need for high quality education is typically agreed upon; how best to provide that education is not as easily as settled. The line in the sand has been drawn with neither side willing to back down and possible casualties are the children.
Education is a form of learning that is necessary for the development of one’s personality, identity, physical and intellectual capabilities. Education also provides to the growth of a person through the enhancement of social and professional integration. Education can improve a person’s quality of life. Underprivileged adults and children have a chance to escape poverty. “It is a tool for the economic, social and cultural development of all population around the world. Education is a human right and should be accessible to everyone without discrimination. All children should be awarded the same opportunities to be able to build a future for themselves. Therefore they must and should be able to go to school. Each child have the right to benefit from a quality education that fits their needs.”(Humanium 2016).
The reasons we educate our children have changed over time. However, some of the core values remain the same. One of the most important purposes of schooling is the transmission of a culture from one generation to the next. It is important to pass on our culture, values, and beliefs to our children so we continue to have a cohesive population. Schooling offers opportunity to our children by teaching them valuable skills that allow them to be self-sufficient and lead successful lives. Schooling also serves to decrease the social ills those without an education suffer from. A final purpose of education is to create people who are active in civic life.
Modernity is one of the most important periods in the human intellectual history. Philosophers and historians claim that it has started somewhere in the middle of the 19th century. Modernity is based on the project of “modernization” (rationalization and scientification of the world in order to make it a better place to live). This project was born in the middle of the Western civilization and it was considered that it is heading the only direction - towards the progress. That is why Europeans and Americans thought that the entire world should align them. A lot of children in different countries got access to the basic education and started spending a lot of their time in schools or other educational institutions. It is inevitable to not to consider and to analyze how the modern models of education and culture (including popular culture) influence childhood. This theme is quite a discussion nowadays, however, one things do change.
The environment through which education is realized is critical for the learning children. In this aspect, there exist many forms of schooling that support education of children; public schooling, home schooling and private schooling. However, each method of schooling has its own advantages and disadvantages compared to other schooling methods. The above arguments are based on both home schooling and public schooling. Each schooling method focuses on pertinent issues that make the method as the most ideal compared to the other. Moreover, these arguments focus in realization of specific goals of education and education environments as indicated in each subheading.
The education of children has existed since the beginning of time as parents have taught and molded their children into the young adults they desired them to be. Initial training of children was not in a formal setting, although history would see numerous settings, purposes, and methodological changes. Philosophies of education have also changed through the years as various voices have seemed to grasp the purpose of educating the next generation, thus laying out objectives to reach those goals of teaching children.
A progressive approach to education in which students are valued is the most important foundation upon which a new system of public education must be built. Children should be encouraged to become self-motivated and flexible, while instilling a love of learning. Real world life and career skills must be taught at an early age and nurtured throughout development. Children should be given the freedom and resources to develop their skills and interests on their own. The goal of education must always be the well-being of the whole child, and the effects that those children will have on the future of society. With cooperation and an open-mind to new, progressive approaches, the world of tomorrow can be improved beyond anyone's greatest dreams.
...child needs and deserves a secure, caring, and inspiring environment in which to blossom and flourish emotionally, intellectually, socially, and physically. It is my desire as an educator to provide my students with the learning environment necessary to motivate and inspire each and every one of them to become to their fullest potential. For myself, teaching is about giving; giving the students support and security, giving them respect and dignity, giving them opportunities to succeed and a quality education, and not only giving them my time and effort but also giving myself. Our society requires its children to not only receive a solid education, but that they are taught by a highly qualified educator who is sensitive to their individual needs and deeply committed to their success. I am such a person and will always strive to do the very best by my students.
The least recognized, most important people in this world are the educators. They must work hard toward inventing a method to help each individual student “be all they can be!” Teachers must try to stimulate students to create a hunger for learning and to expand their success in life. Teachers should be obligated to the need for the student’s individuality. To be able to teach targeting to the students’ needs will make a difference not only in the student but also in the future of our society. Today’s students are tomorrow’s future.
