Although most heroes are male and according to Dictionary.com a hero is, “a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities”. Even though most heroes are male that does not mean women can not be heroes at all. Without a doubt everyone believe’s that Katniss Everdeen is the greatest hero! Born in District 12 and practically raised herself and her sister, Primrose because their mother was suffering with severe depression after their father died from a mine explosion. Her appearance may look like any innocent teenaged girl in District 12, she uses that as a way to confuse her foes. Although she does not have any special powers, she uses her skills as a hunter to fight in “The Hunger Games”, Katniss teaches us that girls can be heroes too and not everyone is perfect. Katniss Everdeen is the definition of a hero and is the greatest hero of our generation!
Her appearance in the first part of The Hunger Games , the way she wore that sky blue dress and her hair in a low bun makes her look professional and classy out of all the people during the Reaping. Katniss looks like any innocent girl who does not want her loved ones to be chosen to go in “The Hunger Games”! She has long, chestnut brown hair, gray eyes and olive skin. As she gets a stylist from the Capitol, her dresses are mouth dropping. First, it was the dress that has real fire burning on it. Then her “supposed to be” wedding dress that turns into a Mocking Jay Dress with wings. Everyone is stunned when they saw Katniss Everdeen wearing amazing outfits. During the games, she wears a black body suit and her Mocking Jay pin attached to the suit. Katniss Everdeen’s appearance may fool many foes as she looks weak and could be an easy target ...

Katniss Everdeen is the definition of a hero and is the greatest hero of our generation! Despite the fact that her appearance is like any ordinary teenaged girl in concern that her loved ones have a 50% chance of getting picked to go in the arena and fight to their death. Her mind and her hunting skills are her most important weapons, which is how she could save Peeta. You don’t need super powers to be a hero, we all have flaws and we all make mistakes and female or male, everyone can be heroes! Without her determination, bravery, courage, intelligence, skills & ability to hunt, Katniss Everdeen is nothing. Like I said before, Katniss is the best hero of our generation and a great role model for young people.
