Reading 9- Marx on the History of His Opinions Divya Mehra Roll no: 2013033 Here is the summary of ideas of Karl Marx, a German philosopher, Journalist, economist. He in this article throws light on some of the critical issue of the society. If we closely link to the reading we see that the theory of alienation of labor and fetishism of the commodity have a close link for the work that Marx has contributed for the society. He argues that in a capitalist society, value given to the commodity is been determined by the object itself and not by the hard work the labors have put in making it. So, in the mechanism of production controlled by society, the workers are not alienated from the commodity and the commodity is valued according to the hours they spend working and making it. In the socialistic view of the relations pertaining in the capitalistic society are of a buyer and seller of a commodity.
