Karl Marx was the most inspirational economist and philosopher of his time. His views on life and the social problems revolutionized the way in which others think. He created a system in which the proletariat (lower class) could rise above the bourgeois (upper class). He was a great political leader and set the basis of Communism throughout the world. His life contributed to the way people think today and because of him people are more open to suggestion and are quicker to create ideas on political issues. Karl Heinrich Marx was born on May 5th, 1818, in Trier, Prussia (now Germany). While Marx was born a Jew, his father converted to Christianity in order to pursue his career as a lawyer. In 1836, Marx enrolled at the University of Berlin where he studied law, history, and philosophy. At college, he began to question the principles of capitalism. He studied the work of Ludwig Feuerbach and G.W.H. Hegel. Even though he did not completely agree with their notions, he though that their ideology was less flawed than those of capitalists.
