It affects many people all over the world and can cause heartache for individuals and their families. Breast cancer does seem occur more often than usual in some families because of genetic makeup. Nobody knows exactly what causes breast cancer, but some say it can be caused by lifestyle factors, environmental factors, hormone factors and genetic makeup. Cancer treatments may be chemotherapy which is medicines that kill the cancer cells, radiation therapy which destroys the dangerous tissue, or surgery to remove the cancerous tissue. In some cases people have to get a mastectomy which removes the breast. All of these treatments can be very painful for the individuals and can take quite some time, they don’t work over night. They can be very long processes. Today we have a breast cancer awareness month, which many people wear pink to show their support for breast cancer. There are also many organizations for breast cancer and there is always research being done about breast cancer. Breast cancer is a terrible disease that no one should have to go through, any type of cancer is for that matter. With the cancer being hereditary, almost anyone could be unfortunate to get breast cancer.
