Justin Bieber, like most children, generally resorts to the Red Herring Fallacy as a natural go-to when he is accused of misbehaving and he is asked to justify his mischievous actions. Unfortunately, unlike most children, Justin Bieber has to answer to more than just his parents. He has to explain his actions to his agent, public relations representative, and his adoring fans. Rather than accept the fault for his indiscretions, Bieber uses diversionary tactics and repeatedly explains that he is just a kid, and he is still learning from his mistakes. Justin Bieber has proven that he is a terrible role model for his fans when he used the Red Herring Fallacy after he was criticized for making inappropriate comments during a visit to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam; after being charged for vandalizing a hotel building in Brazil; and when he was accused of causing $20,000 in damages to his neighbors home.
According to an article published on CNN.com: In April of 2013, during a trip to Amsterdam, Justin Bieber received tons of criticism for writing, what was construed as, a self-centered and extremely vain comment in the guest book of Amsterdam’s Anne Frank House that read, ”Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber" (Duke "Justin Bieber Hopes Anne Frank 'would Have Been a Belieber'"). People believed his comment was inappropriate in regards to a historical figure such as Anne Frank. Rather than deal with the issue head-on, Bieber posted shirtless photos of himself on the internet via Instagram, instead of an apology, in an attempt to distract from the relevant issue. This type of behavior is inexplicable for someone with such an abundance of talent that could be better served by setting a more respectable examp...

...s he finds it easier to avoid issues as opposed to accepting fault and correcting his mistakes. He has made it clear that he prefers to avoid topics concerning his misconduct by attempting to divert media attention through various methods such as using the Red Herring Fallacy technique. It is unfortunate to see the degeneration of a child who, seemingly, has so much potential. Hopefully, this is just a terrible phase that Justin will eventually grow out of, and he will ultimately learn to use his fame as an avenue for sending positive messages while becoming a role model for his fans.

Imagine finding out your boyfriend is cheating on you with your best friend. Your best friend doesn’t tell you because she wants to save you from a heartbreak, but she wants you to forgive her for stabbing you in the back. You focus your negative energy into your work, only to be told you can’t accomplish anything on your own. Brooke Davis, a female character from One Tree Hill, and Blair Waldorf, a female character from Gossip Girl, are two women that went through these difficulties without giving up. Blair once said, “If you really want something, you don’t stop for anyone or anything until you get it.” Brooke and Blair go through many lessons throughout their life on the show, becoming positive role models for viewers. While Brooke Davis and Blair Waldorf live two completely different lifestyles, Brooke and Blair are both confident, forgiving, and resilient.
In the end, people saw his MTVs Video Music Awards performance. The audience was into his performance clapping, screaming, and getting hyped. At the end of his performance he cried, but many wonder why in the world he was crying for. "Turn that music off! I don't want you listening to that kind of music." Many teens these days are experiencing this kind of thing almost every day. Many parents, in general, have complained and tried to regulate the music that teens are listening to these days. They complain that the music industry shouldn't be able to sell and produce the explicit CD's.
It all started on July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut when Barbara and George H. W. Bush had their eldest son, George Walker Bush. Bush has 5 siblings, John, Marvin, Neil, and Dorothy. He also had a younger sister, Robin, who died from Leukemia at age 3. In September, 1964 Bush entered Yale under a history major, and instantly became very popular. He held many responsibilities at Yale, Bush was the president of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was a part of the secretive Skull and Bones society, like his father and grandfather before him.On May 27,1968 Bush joined the 147th Fighter Interceptor Group of the Texas Air National Guard, during the Vietnam War. Bush’s position in the National Guard was to fly in a F-102A Delta Dagger, a single seater interceptor that played a key role in the United States air
OJ Simpson, one of football’s most legendary players, was admired and extolled by many sports-lovers from across the nation. From being selected as the number one player in the 1969 draft to being named NFL’s Player of the Year three times, he led a life of success and fame (CNN.com). Yet behind this renowned MVP, there stood a dark side. In June of 1994, Simpson was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, Nicole Simpson, and family friend, Ronald Goldman. Simpson pleaded not guilty and eventually won his trial, but his reputation and status were far from recovery. In September of 2007, Simpson was once again arrested, this time on grounds of robbery and kidnapping sports memorabilia. Simpson is a fine example to the age old argument that celebrities should not be given special treatment in the court room because at the end of the day, no matter now powerful they might be, they’ve committed a crime and should pay for their wrongdoing.
...There is one charge he hasn't really faced, that of making the weaker argument the stronger. That is he just questioned peoples arguments, no matter how strong they were compared to his own. In essence he made fools of powerful and knowledgeable people for sport. Perhaps this overshadowed aspect of the charges is true after all.
When someone says the name Michael Jordan, the first thing that comes to mind is basketball, The Chicago Bulls and Nike shoes. Through the years, Michael Jordan has proved time and time again that he is the greatest basketball player ever, and by performing in this rapidly expanding sporting field, he has gained tremendous popularity throughout the world. People of all ages and from all nationalities have gathered to watch him play. A journalist states 'even your Aunt Matilda might not know nothing about basketball, liked watching him play' (Jonathon 1999:58). Jordan has become more than just an entertainer. He is a hero and a role model amongst basketball spectators. Johnson claims that 'he is the most famous American in the world' (ibid.). Perhaps he was born to be the best.
This essay sets out to explain how and why disability has been constructed as a medical problem; additionally, the way in which the medical model has influenced policies and practices for disabled people will be evidenced. According to Brisenden (1986) the term ‘disabled’ is used collectively to describe individuals who do not function the same as people who are classified as 'normal’. However, the Equality Act 2010 defines disability as having a ‘physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities’ (Gov.uk, 2015). Using a range of sources, this essay will succinctly highlight issues surrounding disability during the early twentieth century, before giving a definition

...ildren, and most of their time must be enjoyed in creating their own private space. During our childhood, we build the seeds of creativity that will eventually determine our personality. And during adulthood, we always look back to the wonders of our youth. Show business is very hard for anyone, particularly for kids. Children do not belong in the entertainment industry. Young stars often complain about a stolen childhood, the pressure they have to face at a young age forcing them to mature fast, and the risks of exposure to dirty show business while still an innocent playful child. Celebrities who were exposed to the limelight at a tender age become scarred for life by early success and tend to compensate for the childhood they were deprived of during their later years in life.

According to the article “The Effects of Celebrity Role Models on Kids and Teens” by Eliza Martinez,“Many celebrities do not make a secret of alcohol or drug abuse and the glamorization of dying due to an overdose in the media might make your child feel that using these substances is acceptable.” The fans see the celebrities’ work and not the person themself. This is the main reason celebrities make such terrible role models. The fans will idolize them, but they don’t know what the celebrity is like on a personal level. They don’t know the opinion of the celebrity on certain issues. If they did and they agreed with the celebrity, then there is a whole other reason to look up to this person. If a fan disagreed, then they could still like their work and just agree to disagree, but it will never be like that. It is no one’s fault, but that is the main reason celebrities aren’t good role models. That is why parents, siblings, friends, other family, and even fictional characters work as role models. The people that look up to them know their role model personally and therefore know whether or not they agree with the role model’s
Ever since I was in eighth grade, I have been obsessed with Taylor Swift. She has been my role model since I was thirteen. When you look at most singers today, they have to be singing about drugs or alcohol, using vulgar language, or performing half-dressed. You never see Taylor Swift doing anything that she would be ashamed of later in life. On the other hand, she has had many relationships that have lasted short time periods. At least, she is not getting married for 72 days or even 24 hours such Kim Kardashian or Britney Spears. This is why I chose to write a research paper on her.
