Life is a beautiful lie , but Death is a painful truth.Brutus’s Hamartia would be his loyalty to Rome.The people love Julius Caesar until he is killed by his best friend Brutus, who believes it is for the good of Rome. The people, led by Mark Antony, rebel against Brutus eventually going to war. “It was not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more” in this quote Brutus states that he loves Rome more than his best friend. Brutus says that he also has the same sword waiting for him if the people of Rome wish it. When convinced that is is best for Rome Brutus keeps his promise and kills himself..

During the war Mark Antony starts taking control. When Brutus is overcome he concludes that it is for the good of the people. It was many years ago Brutus stated that he would kill himself if the people needed it. When he perceives that he is losing he keeps his word. Brutus kills himself for the good of Rome, the good of the people, and the good of the future. Brutus dies in the end all because he was loyal to Rome. In the end Mark Antony wins the war because Brutus ran into his own sword and not by accident. In conclusion Brutus definitely had a tragic flaw, he was too loyal and for that he died. Brutus kills his own best friend and future king. Brutus knew he was going to die, he even offered to kill himself. Eventually he did kill himself, but only when he realized that he was bad for Rome.
