Karl mark once said like this religion is the opiate of people (Works of Karl Marx 1843). Different people have different opinions about religion. Some does not believe in God, and some do. There are hundreds of religions in this world; Judaism is one of the ancient and well known religions. For Jews, Judaism is just not only their religion, but also their culture. Judaism came from a Middle Eastern country called Palestine also known as Israel. Hebrew bible Torah contains the history of Judaism. There is archeological evidence to prove that the Torah is true. According to the book, Abraham, also known as the father of faith, is the founder of Judaism. He lived in the 2nd millennium BCE. According to the book, Abraham along with his wife and nephew lot left their home land as the lord commanded him to do. He eventually settled in Canaan, which Jewish people believe is their promised land by God. Canaan is a fruitful and fertile land along the border of the Mediterranean Sea. Abraham’s son Isaac had a son Jacob and he had 12 sons which later became the 12 tribes of Israel. The 12 tribes multiplied and eventually formed the nation of Israel (Franklin). The 12 families of migrated to Egypt and multiplied there, the current pharaoh at that time kept them in captive there for several years. Moses, a Hebrew man became their leader and delivered them from the captivity. Judaism undergoes many changes in culture and religion from Abraham’s period through the mosaic period (Edwards). In the beginning Hebrew people lived a nomadic life and most of them where farmers and shepherds. Tribal structure of Hebrew’s mainly resembles Mesopotamians in the 18th century BCE. ...est of the world as well. By the 21st century Jewish culture, religion and politic have changed drastically. Judaism and Jewish culture was always fascinating and thus the world was continuously drawn by Jewish culture and tradition, and will be continued to be drawn in the future as well (Edwards).
I choose the topic Judaism to know more about Jews and their culture. Judaism had a great impact on western civilization and its culture have influenced the world a lot as well. I did not know that Islam and Christianity originated from the ideology of Judaism and they all have originated from the same place, Middle East. The important lesson one can learn from Judaism is that, if you have the strong will power and hard work no matter how week you are, no matter what world talks about you, no matter if you are a minority, you will survive and have victory in the end.
