Judaism and Islam are two of the oldest religions in the world. Both came from Abrahamic traditions, Judaism uses the bible and Islam uses the Q’uran. For many years, especially in the country of Israel, the Palestinians, who are Islamic and the Jew’s who follow the bible have clashed. Though the two cultures have some similarities, their differences in how they worship and believe has caused war and conflict for hundreds of years.
Judaism became a national religion on Mount Sinai in Arabia. It has since then permeated throughout the Western Hemisphere, the Middle East, parts of Africa and Asia. Judaism is one of the largest religions in the world and it is the basis for which both Christianity and Islam found its foundation. Judaism believe in God, and they believe that he is the only God. In Islam, the followers believe in Muhammad the prophet who founded the religion and the supreme God Allah. In the time that Muhammad was born and being raised by his uncle the two main religions were Judaism and Christianity. Muhammad frequented churches and synagogues, this is where he learned about religion and heard bible stories. These sames stories would later be show up in the Q’uran altered by Muhammad to fit Islam. (Roskin and Coyle, 2008). This is where the two religion clash the most.

Both religions and cultures descended from Abraham. The Jews believe that they descended from Issac the son of Abraham who was supposedly the promised son, which would inherit the blessings of Abraham, and the Muslims believe that they are the descendants of Ishmael the other son of Abraham and also the son of the slave woman. With Isaac being the promised son and Ishmael being the son of a slave woman, there were bound to be conflict between the Jews and the Muslims because they both believe they are correct and the chosen one
When Jesus walked on this earth over 2000 years ago, there was a division among the Jews on wither or not He was the true Messiah that He claimed He was. The Jews believed that He was not the true Messiah because of many substantial and vital distinctions between Judaism and Christianity. It must be remembered that Christianity emerged from Judaism, but not on a straight line. To say that the two religions are completely different would be a complete misstatement. There are similarities that will be discussed as we learn together, along with many differences that separate these two great religions of the world. It is my intention not to judge one over the other, but to explain that everyone has their own beliefs and that belief should be respected

Islam and Christianity both come from a common foundation as religions of peace, both of these religious traditions share the foundational element of peace of their beliefs. In both the sacred texts of Islam and Christianity peace is a virtue and is seen more as a sense of wellbeing than just the absence of conflict and violence. Overall peace is found in unity with God, for Christians and Muslims are taught to live a life a life of peace with others, not only in their own communities but the entire of human society. The Qur’an in Islam and the New Testament in Christianity are respectively the principal sacred texts for these religious traditions. The Qur’an and the New Testament both express the importance of peace and peacemaking as evident in Jesus’ Beatitudes “Blessed are the peacemakers”. The search for inner peace is the core message of the Qur’an and the New Testament and the adherents of both traditions are taught that inner peace will come through faithfully devoting yourself to God.
Christianity and Judaism are some of the largest religions on earth, they also share many similarities, as well as some differences. They are both monotheistic religions that share many common themes and beliefs. Both religions have similar histories and have religious figures common to each other, that are involved in that history. Differences are displayed between Christianity and Judaism in their practices and traditions, as well as their religious symbols. While these religions seem to have little in common at first glance, both have strikingly similar pasts that consist of radical splits due to disagreements among members of the Christian and Islamic churches, resulting in new branches within each religion.
Both Christianity and Judaism are religions that have some relationship between them as much as they also have differences. Judaism and Christianity developed on the basis obeying God, on adherence to his rules and fulfillment of God’s will is a duty of a Jewish or Christian person, both religions fall into the rule deontological category.
Every religion has its own goal, and their own path and believe to reach their goals, however there are also many similarities in believes. Although the followers of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam may see things differently, they all fundamentally hold the same values and codes. To Islam, the Prophet Mohammad’s teaching is a complete and final revelation. On the other hand, according to the bible, Christianity believes that Jesus Christ is the true lord and savior will grant you the access to heaven in the afterlife. Judaism is founded by Abraham, and it is the base from which both of the other two religions sprung. Even though the three religions differ in many areas and on many aspects, they also agree on the monotheistic, the belief in ‘One True God.’ Those religions have many similarities and a number of significant differences about God, role of women, prayer, and salvation.
Judaism vs. Christianity Judaism and Christianity developed on the basis obeying God, on adherence to his rules and intentions and their faithful fulfillment. Since the fulfillment of God’s will is a duty of a Jewish or Christian person, both religions fall into the rule-deontological category. In Judaism, God is seen as having a contractual relationship with the Jewish people where they must obey his holy laws in return for their status of the chosen people. God rewards or punishes Jewish people based on whether they obey or disobey his will. In parts of the Old Testament, however, God does show mercy or forgiveness, and in later interpretations God’s laws such as the Ten Commandments are followed not only out of loyalty to God but also because of their high moral character.
When one thinks of the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, it’s frequently assumed they’re all exclusively separate entities that operate in different ways. However, it’s important to recognize these religions share many characteristics. Although each has their own source of religious authority, they all utilize a similar relationship between scripture and tradition, where the definitions of these terms are heavily intertwined. This relationship can be described as a hermeneutical circle, where “fluid literary traditions solidify into unchangeable scripture; scripture in turn generates new forms of fluid literary tradition through interpretation” (JCM, 4). Civil and technological differentiations embodied in the media have aggravated the situation. Technological differentiation has undermined religion by taking the place of spirituality in adherents’ lives.
Christianity and Islam are two religions that grew from the same central idea of one divine being; they also originate from Jerusalem. However, the two religions bear great disparity but they also hold a few similarities. Both Islam and Christianity believe in Abraham as the forefather of both religions; they believe Him to be the founder of the two religions. The two religions have a holy book; Islam uses the Quran while Christians use the bible. Even though the two books do not bear the same teachings they are considered sacred in both religions. However, Christianity and Islam share a great deal of differences starting from the holy books, their beliefs, and the information contained in the respective holy book (Kavanaugh, 5).

They both are monotheistic, which means they only believe in one god. Muslims worship the God called Allah, which means in Arabic “the God”. And Jews worship the god called Yahweh, which means the God of Israel. Their differences include their core beliefs, rituals, symbols, and history.
Islam and Christianity have a vast amount of similarities as well as differences. Islam searches for guidance from the Qur’an and Christianity depends on faith in Jesus. Islamic faith believes in the God, Allah. Above anything else, all religious Muslims obey Allah and his commandments to obtain peace. On other hand, Christianity puts faith in Jesus who is the son of God. A major concept that separates both of the religions is the fact that the God of each faith has different qualities. This means Islam and Christianity don’t worship the same God. Islam and Christianity are two separate belief systems in which two separate Gods exist.
The Christians have their book known as the Bible. Lastly, the Islamic people have their book known as the Quran. All three of these books have scriptures. These three major religions also share a belief that there is one major area that they claim as their Holy Land. The Jews and the Christians claim Jerusalem, Israel as their Holy Land while the Islamic people claim Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Judaism, Christianity and Islam share the same birthplace the Middle East. Jerusalem is not only the home to Judaism but Christian and Muslim Religions as well. Equally important is the expansion of religions. For example Judaism and Christianity are also practiced in Europe, North America, Russia and elsewhere. Islam can be found in Europe, Central Asia, North and West Africa and elsewhere. (30-41)
