(BYOD)
BYOD is something that John Paul II is bringing into action in the near future; it means that we can take our technologies to school to aid our work.

Operating System
The operating system is what runs on a computer. A computer must have it to run applications. They complete simple tasks; these tasks include keyboard input, locating files, and controlling devices like printers and disk drives. For large systems, the operating system has even greater responsibilities and powers. It makes sure that different programs and users running at the same time don’t interrupt each other. The operating system is also responsible for security, keeping out unauthorised users.

The system that an operating system or program uses to organize and keep track of files. Although the operating system provides its own file management system, you can buy separate file management systems. These systems provide more features, such as improved backup procedures and stricter file protection.

Storage Devices
Storage devices are devices that allow you to transfer data from system to system or have extra space, for example instead of watching a movie digitally a DVD can be used so it doesn’t have to be downloaded onto your hard drive, hard drives can be used for extra space and can transport data with is, like USBs but more space. The cloud is when you store information/files up on the web.

File Types
DOCX/DOC - A file with the DOCX file extension is a Word Microsoft Office Open XML Format Document file. Other types of files may also use the DOCX file extension. (A word document that I used to write up my SOS assignment)

Also there should be a system in place to protect the hardware that students bring to school. Also the students should be encouraged to backup all of their files on an external harddrive at home because even though there is a school backup procedure, extra precautions need to be taken to protect their data. There has been a multi device printing mechanism that enables users to print on all of their BYOD hardware and it also saves the waste of paper because you are weary of your printing balance.
